Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Yeah, there's no problems with that. The issue is that changing anything results in a force close. Stock camera is working hundreds though...

Hi guys. I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. I was a bit impatient and got a replacement.
So I'm considering selling it as is. What is a fair price? The glass is cracked but other than that it still works.
Also any idea on prices if the glass only can be replaced, I'm not sure. Samsung came in at under 2k for the whole lcd unit.

Edit: It is the N7100 and about a year old.

R900 for the glass:

So 4.4 has been released for the Note 2 by OmniRom and some CM nightly builds. Any idea which is a better option? And will apps work on 4.4 or am I likely to have some problems until developers update their apps?

I decided to give OmniRom a try, and I'm glad I did.

Initially I was impressed with how smooth it was. Then I decided to switch from dalvik to the new art runtime, and OMG. I have never actually encountered an experience like this on my phone before. And it's not because of the clean cache. It was already clean. This is just insanely fast and responsive, and perfectly smooth. I am properly impressed. And the best thing is that all of my apps work perfectly. Not a single FC or hang...

So switching to ART made a big difference, might just give this a try. Any other significant changes from 4.3?

It certainly made a huge difference to my device. I haven't had a chance to look for new features yet. The few I've encountered are minor and I'm not sure if they're to do with omni or 4.4. I'm not fond of the new launcher. It's very limited...

I've been holding out on flashing my Note 2 but it's clearly time. Any preffered method for rooting/flashing? I see their are a fair number of threads on this on XDA.

Note is the best. Serious. First phone ever that I've been using for many months and still wouldn't swap out for any other phone coming on the market now. This is a first for me, ever. I'm already due for an upgrade but want nothing else ... so I'll wait. I do hear rumours though of HTC bringing out a rival to the Note 2. Thát might win me over.

Is the note not too big against your ear when making calls?

I think I finally understand why vegetarians get so frustrated with the "where do you get your protein from?" question :)

You should seriously give the Note 2 or 3 a go. Within a day or two you'll wonder how you ever got by with those silly little screens on other phones. You won't even notice the size when making calls.

CWM recovery. Flash Omnirom from SD card. Flash latest PA 4.4 GAPPS from SD Card. Wipe Dalvik cache. Wipe cache partition. Factory Reset. Reboot.

You're done...
