Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Just finished installing DN3 version 4.0 beta which is based on the 1st leaked 4.4.2 for note 2. So far extremely impressed with it.
Was a bit of a mission getting it up and running, had to do a full factory reset. But is worth it so far. My note was way overdue for a full clean out.....

Hey guys. Android 4.3 is out for note 2. Just downloaded it.

Biometrics, what is Cyanogenmod and what benefits does it have over firmware?
 
I'm looking for Note 2 stock rom (4.1.2), torrent if possible the downloads from samfirmware keeps bombing out.

Just remember that if you had a 4.3 official ROM, you cant go back to a 4.1.2 official ROM.

Try XDA, there might be links to other download sites.
 
I had the DN3 4.3 rom by E-team. The phone kept freezing I restored the 4.1.2 rooted rom I had before but I need to go back to the original/stock rom. I'll check XDA forums.
 
Replacement S-Pen for Galaxy Note 2

The round tip of my S-Pen has come off. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement S-Pen?

I can order on Amazon, but many/all of the items there has at least one reviewer complaining about incompatibility or fakes. Amazon it thus still a last resort.

Or is any of the other S-Pen models compatible with the Note 2?

It is frustrating that one is unable to get a replacement for an essential part of the phone. Thanks.
 
You can get them at the Samsung shops, the shape is unique to the Note 2 AFAIK

I was afraid that it would be unique. Been to most stores in Brooklyn, Menlyn and wider Pretoria. None have any stock and were not too helpful in sourcing it. I am now hoping for, well, something in Cape Town or so. Or someone who saw it on a shelf just moments ago?
 
Some good news for CM users.
It seems Cyanogenmod has fixed the camera issue on the Note 2.

Couple of weeks ago it just started working every time, instead of occasionally.

Noted this on another Note 2 as well, so not just me.
 
Upgraded to stock 4.3 but now my mobile data overrides my wifi. I can't connect to wifi unless I disable mobile data first. Anybody else have this issue or now the settings to correct this?

Went from the disaster of stock 4.3 to CM. Much happier.
 
I got 4.3 working pretty sweet, but Kitkat release for Note 2 is in April, so not long to wait.
