Samsung Galaxy Note 2

In total I paid about R5,600 for my 32GB N2.

Bought the S3 for R5k as an unwanted upgrade from someone. Added a battery and some cases. Then RMA'd the S3 because of a battery drain fault and got a brand new replacement, then traded it for the N2. Sorted. Bonus :)

Rooted mine as soon as I got it (2 weeks ago) :D
Used the XDA Note 2 rootkit without any problems

Custom roms... And the fact that I hate all the sammy & google bloatware. I freeze apps that I don't use with Titanium backup. Google maps is the first app to go. Running Sygic right now & it's 100 times better :D

How noticeable is the speed difference? To the human eye that is. What about warranty? Or do you reset to factory if there is a problem?

It does void your warranty if you root, but it can be "unrooted" just as easily if there's any problems. Speed difference? Nothing I could see, but that really depends on which rom you use
 
I have been running Omega since last night. Going back to a NANDROID stock now then will try a different ROM this evening.

On stock I was averaging 1.3 to 1.7% battery drain during an office day. On Omega it is closer to 3% and that is a flash with zero bloat.

I used to use Revolution on my old HD2 and Desire HD. Think I will try that one this evening.

Only prob I had with Bfore is that they sent me a normal sim,
I had to cut it down to microsim and still get it RICAd...

Ordered one this morning but did not specify a color. Did you asked for a grey phone or is it just the luck of the draw?
From payment till in your hand how many days?
 
I managed to get a samsung flip cover for my note at the samsung counter at vodaworld for R300, only found one
other voda store selling them for R400. The incredible connection at vodaworld is selling a belkin case for the note II
but it leaves the bottom and top exposed.

I ordered mine a week ago but was told in advance that stock was only arriving on the 29th,
so I paid hoping I would get one from the first shipment. I was emailed that stock was arriving earlier
by the 23rd, was delivered to my house on the 24th yesterday. So I ordered it last Wednesday and got
it this Wednesday. Seeing as they probably have stock you should get it in like 2-3 days. They told me they
were only getting the White models or so MTN told them so, but everyone messaging that they received their
notes yesterday all got grey models, so its really up to what MTN decides to send to them...

Yip, phoned them. No white, only titanium grey.
 
That's why I am nervous to order, I ONLY want a grey one, and it seems to the luck of the draw ATM.

Seems like they only have the grey, the colour is written on the outside of the box so just make sure before you
remove the plastic sealing...
