Samsung Galaxy Note 2

I ordered a pouch from ebay and expected to recieve it a week after I got the phone. Today I picked up the pouch from the Post Office (YAY) and tomorrow I shall be picking up the phone on my upgrade.
I decided on the white. I don't think I've been so excited for a gadget before. My boss will just have to understand when I tell him I'll be a bit late tomorrow.

@kang do you have a link to the ebayitem please? And what do you think of the build quality? ... Enjoy the phone BTW ;)

Why not buying from Bfore? Last day today for the special. Do not think you will get it cheaper anywhere else.

It's an option but it's with mtn. what can I do with the airtime?

You are not obliged to use it.

It's R50 p/m airtime. It carries for 3 months, so every couple of months remove your other network sim and make a bunch of calls on MTN before reverting.

3 month rollover sounds like a good deal

I saw on some review that the back cover of the flip cover is more matt type finish opposed to the very glossy cover of the phone itself, can anyone confirm?

Need to get home so that I can connect up to WiFi and start loading up the apps.

I think what google should do is sync the users current apps so that when you get your new phone you could just punch in your google account info and then have the option to download and install onto your new device. Think about how cool that would be, that way you wouldnt have to rush home to load apps:D and at the same time no need to backup your apps:whistle:

...Got myself a Note 2

Tell me so does the note 2 come out with a 32GB External SD card and what is the internal SD like in terms of size?

Just picked up a back cover case and a book type case from Vodashop - Eastgate.

Back cover case was R259. Book type was R399. They gave me a discount to R608 for both.

Book cover in titanium grey and in white.
Back cover in black and in white.

Stock came in this AM apparently. Move your butts before they gone.

Okay, when I get home just now. About to leave the office.
It is official Sammy stuff and have to say they compliment the device very nicely. I got the Titanium book case for my white phone. Looks quite slick.
Not tried out the black back cover case yet. Will do that just now.

Ok awesome.

Just joined the Note 2 club :D

Cost me 8.5k at vodashop for anyone who cares about the cash price. I didn't want to deal with MTN so I didnt' go for the Bfore deal.

No, it's got 32GB internal memory but I picked up a R160 16GB card anyway.

All that info is on pg13 of this thread, bra. I thought the pouch was black but its dark brown which is not really to my liking but it will still serve its purpose.
The quality seems quite good. I can't be sure if its genuine leather but the inside is a nice velvety suedey type material.
1 more sleep till I get my 2.
(I feel like a kid)

I like the idea of the flip cover to prevent "in case of gorilla glass failure" scratches, but it offers no real protection against bumps etc. The back cover case has some bump/fall resistance, but doesnt protect display.

Let us know how it works out. I think in the short term (and limited budget) I will go for the flipcover

I believe that is exactly what Google/Android does. It will download all your apps you had on your previous phone, after you've entered your account details on phone setup.

Obviously it won't download the data held in the apps themselves, though. You would need to do a titanium backup for that. And to do that, you need to get your T. Backup files on your new phone, and point the T Backup app to the backup location (or put the files in the default folder to start with). Or one could've backed up all your apps to the cloud on your previous phone, and then restore the files with T Backup from the cloud with your new phone, but that would take quite a while to do, use a ton of data and a lot of energy...

The flip is annoying.
All my devices I have only ever used back cover cases and no screen protector. My first S3 even dropped on its face with no issue.
Back cover case much nicer IMO.
