Swiftkey supports Afrikaans from what I understand. My Afrikaans mates rave about it.

I am not running a custom ROM just yet. Been very happy with stock. I just rooted it.
CM10 is in nightly now though, so will probably flash that soon. I have always been a big CM fan on all my devices. Still debating it though as I have become used to some of the Sammy features on my phone. Will see.
 
i'm also waiting for mine :( It's been 9 days since i ordered.......:erm:

I also quite like the Samsung features and I will probably stick to the stock-based ROMs until Samsung eventually becomes reluctant to release updates (probably 1 year + from now), which is what happened with my S2. I used CM10 on it until I upgraded to the Note now.

I do have swiftkey, and it rocked on my S2. However, it interferes with the writing keyboard on the Note. When you want to write with the pen, swiftkey pops up instead.

Well, I ordered from BFore (their special deal which ended at the end of Oct) and am still waiting for delivery ... probably an MTN thing but still waiting nonetheless :(
 
Damn it feels like this phone doesn't even charge over usb.

Might be due to the larger battery, meaning that each percent is actually worth more than one on my S2. But I think the phone pulls a bit more power too

Let me see.....S2 = 1650 mAh, Note 2 = 3100 mAh. :p
 
hello ya'll, think its a top notch phone... just skeptical coz all the years of pre-android Samsung use and how the phone would just crap out... anyone had any issues thus far with the Note II, honestly?

And one more thing, how do we ensure that when we order, we get the LTE version ?!?

I remember a few years ago I swore I would never buy a Samsung. Those were my Sony Ericsson days!

These days Samsung is much better. They are the only manufacturer that could challenge the market benchmark, Apple. In fact, Samsung has become the new market benchmark.

I believe the Note 2 is the best smartphone money can buy at the moment

I'm also looking for a cover, but I want the official Samsung hard cover, not the flip cover. We don't have a Samsung shop in my part of the world! Any one know of an online shop? Preferably a local one?

Edit: About the microsim. I cut my normal simcard myself - and didn't use a template either. Its one of the old 32k sim cards with the big chip (I see newer simcards have a smaller chip). I had to cut of basically all plastic until right to the chip. I used one of those carper-cutter things. Worked quite well and didn't have to pay for a new :p It might not look neat, but it works perfectly.

Yeah with Bfore. Ordered it last Monday.

I just received an email saying we should receive deliveries next week Monday-Thursday. Guess MTN might have had a problem with the stock :)

Now to pray that the next few days go quickly:erm:

thanks my brethren, lol I also swore I'd never go that route remembering the D500 playing up and stuff, amazing piece of kit but crapped out...

I have had an HTC Desire for two years now so you can imagine how classy the Note II will have to be to prize me away :p Needs to be LTE though, would be gutted if it weren't... stuck for two years mind you
 
I ordered a white RINGKE SLIM case before I got the phone as Nashua told me that they only had white phones, and then they sent me a grey one......!

So in a week or two I will have a super-slim white case for sale if anyone is interested. (http://www.rearthusa.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2-slim-case)

Mike bought a spare one from me for his NOTE 1, so he can vouch for the quality, etc.
Also, my white NOTE 1 is for sale (perfect condition).

How much you selling your Note 1 for?

I am using an S2 for nav in the car. So damn tiny though so keen to get a Note 1 for this purpose.
