Samsung Galaxy Note 2

anyone know of any good deals on the note 2? due for an upgrade and looking for a good deal. not really concerned about data, need airtime/minutes more as i have wifi at home and work. best deal i've seen so far is from autopage. a cell c straightup 200 contract, 200 anytime mins, 200 sms's and 200mb data for R469, which is cheaper than direct from cellc which is 549 for the same deal. and before anyone says stay away from autopage, i have 2 contracts with them and i have had nothing but excellent service from them. all help and advice will be appreciated. thanks

Seen this offer from CellC?

Looks to me that they have added an additional 300megs of data so it matches iPhone deal. I work it out to cost of phone now just over 6k.

I think I'm just going to take this contract when my Vodacom one ends (in March I think) - When CellCsay 'additional 300MB', I'm assuming then the total 400MB (normal 100mb plus the additional 300)?

I hope there isn't (secrectly, I'm hoping there is) a new phone that catches my eye over the Note 2 by then...

If Centurion, Brooklyn, Menlyn or bahhh Redds Mall (pffft) Cell C's had had a Note 2 in stock, I'd have one today..... Oh well, the deal is good so no real surprise.

I picked up my Titanium one yesterday and was rather surprised that the ear buds and charger are white, is this normal?
I don't want to be mistaken for an iSheep:eek:

I think it is normal, because that is also what I have. iSheep can only dream of having a beast like the Note 2!

Yip, it's definitely normal and trust me, despite what CrApple want the rest of the world to believe, they weren't the first company to think of white ear buds.

Does anyone know if the officail 4.1.2 is out in SA yet? There used to be a site samsungblog.co.za which used to keep you up to date with all that kind of info but for some odd reason the site was closed it seems. I would also like to know if there is a similar one/site

Not out AFAIK, keep an eye on www.sammobile.com or just download the rom from there. It looks like the rest of the world is on 4.1.2 :-(
I must load this too as I am getting tired of the TW Home has stopped working message...

So after 2 weeks of utter crap from Cell C, I've decided their great deals are subsidised by slave labour rates for incompetent staff, no stock of the phones offered on their deals, and as I'm seeing recently, signs of zero investment into their network coverage...

So I'm staying with Vodacom (seemingly the lesser of two evils) and will just damn well ensure I'll never go oob with the data on my hopefully-soon-to-be-mine Note 2!

So the question is.... considering I'll be getting 1mbps adsl at home and therefore all the heavy lifting will be done wifi, is LTE that much of a big deal? Question is, is the R50 p/m x24m difference worth it purely on difference in general retail price of the phone?
Will it be a benefit when it comes to selling the phone etc?

Basically, while I doubt I'll make HUGE benefit of LTE, is it not just worth that R50 p/m anyway?

Sorry I want to burst out with laughter but wil contain myself. As you will be staying with Vodascum tell me what do you think will happen with LTE and the cost of voda data prices...? I'm also with voda so I know this all too well. The decision is ultimately yours though but I wouldn't put too much emphasis on LTE for current gen phones in SA.

Since I can control myself and won't go OOB on the cell contract data, that question is pointless.
The question put simply is, at around R50 per month more, is an LTE Note 2 general retail value R1200 higher than a non-LTE version. Since I don't know, I'll ask. If that makes you feel like laughing, well okay then.

And regarding 'Vodascum', well...... To each their own but I've never had issues with them regarding service delivery, phone availability, billing, queries etc. From my experience with Cell C so far, it seems you get what you pay for.
