This may be a silly question, but is there a way to access system apps without rooting your device?

I want to install some of the Galaxy S5's apps on my Note, but it keeps uninstalling after a reboot. I found this on XDA: "If after a reboot the S5 App is replaced by the old one you've, replace the apk in system folder (system/app or system/priv-app)"

Is there a way to access the system folder without root?

Nope. Not a silly question but the answer is no. That's exactly what "rooting" does, it gives you access to system folders. It's like in Windows, if you're not logged in as an administrator (if anyone is still masochistic enough to do that these days), you won't be able to access the Program Files folder or half the stuff on your PC. That's what rooting basically is, it tells the stupid user account control to get stuffed and logs you in as an administrator so you can access everything. Or whatever the Linux equivalent is, they always have such dumb names for everything.

Okay thanks anyway. Maybe one day I will root my note. I will look in to it, but I'm sceptical with Knox and all

Not one for benchmarks and stuff but just did an Antutu for sh*ts and giggles.

Yes, very sure :)
Running a custom rom though, which may have something to do with it.

I received an update this morning (N900 on CellC) of about 232mb - Can't really see any changes yet. Does anyone have a change log for this? Only thing I notice is that "GPS" is now called "Location" on the drag down notification bar.

Seems like these are the major changes after some Googling:
Baseband Version: N900XXUENG1
Build Number: KOT49H.N900XXUENH1
"Some of the changes you are going to notice on the 4.4.2 update:

• Kids mode installer support.
• Virtual tour mode in camera.
• Updated Knox 2.0.
• Batter fully charged icon changed.
• Battery life seem improved.
• WiFi connectivity issues resolved.
• The term “Location” is used instead of GPS in notification panel."

I dropped my Note 3 on tiles and the phones silver bezel is dented, scratched and cracked. The S-Pen has also stopped working.

What will be the best way to get my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 repaired?
How long will the repair take because I need my phone.
Will this be covered by the ADH warrantee?

I'm in Durban.

best is to contact samsung themselves via their website. this won't be covered by ADH. ADH only covers cracked screens. I dropped by S4 back in the day, silver side dented and screen cracked, they only replaced the screen, not the silver side.

My Notes' touch did not work at all last night. It was in roaming mode and i couldn't do jack shst but switch the phone off and on...

Also received the update.. Busy downloading

Ive been using X-Note for quite a while now, but its getting a bit laggy recently. I just stumbled across this:

CM11 M10 with a OnePlus One conversion kit. Pretty much turns your phone into a Opo with the lockscreen, boot animations and even includes the awesome stock camera. Seeing as the specs between the OPO and Note 3 are pretty similar, im definitely keen on seeing how this works on my phone :D.

Wonder when Vodacom will. Since I've had the Note 3, I've had to wipe and reinstall twice after the kitkat update due to various issues: pathetic battery life.. Blank screen when receiving calls, keyboard takes a good few seconds to initiate as if the phone wakes up slowly and then super laggy

Doesn't the Note 3 have an option for a refurbished unit? Premium ADH?
