It's likely just a Note 3 Rom made to look like/work like the S5, they can't directly port.

They did it while I waited, but I had to go from person to person to finally get them to fix mine. Took about 2 hours to get done.

I'm just glad it wasn't a couple of days. The thought of holding a Blackberry again makes met cringe
 
I arranged for Samsung to pick up my Note 3 tomorrow. They will give me a Note 3 as a loan phone. I am very impressed with their service.
 
Lollipop sources already merging with AOSP. Probably a few weeks away.

The good thing about getting a new screen is it comes with the silver bezel around the phone, so besides the back cover everything feels brand new.

Let us know how it goes.

Will do. I don't think there will be a difference because the phone is practically spotless besides from the screen protector that is scratched. It would be nice to get a new screen and bezel.

The guy wrote down that it is only the LCD that is broken and not the glass, so maybe they won't even replace the glass.

The LCD comes factory fitted with the glass and bezel, so it will be replaced.

The helpful lady at the Riverhorse branch advised me to put the tempered glass screen protector so if the phone falls on the screen, the tempered glass screen protector will shatter and help avoid breaking the screen glass.

They had a Samsung branded tempered glass screen protector in stock which I paid R300.

My phone didn't even fall. I accidentally hit it while trying to swap a fly.
 
what did u swap the fly for ? a bee?

I see that there is some work on a note 4 "port/ROM" for the note 3.

Only strengthening my case for getting the note 3 over the holidays instead of the note 4 (price :()

Else i'll wait till upgrade time next year August and get the note 4 if its feasible.

Last i read on @SamsungSA, the silver bezel uses up your 2nd adh claim if you dont tell them not to replace it.

I downloaded that S5 Port/ with Note 4 mod. It bombed out spectacularly in TWRP. Had to restore my nandroid backup. Not sure if it was a bad download or TWRP.

My advice would be to hold on the ports for a while. Let them fine tune first.

If you ask them to replace the screen and they replace the bezel as well without asking you then they can't let it count as your 2nd adh claim.

If you take your car for a service and they replace the engine without consulting you they can't charge you for it.

I still have mine active on the ADH premium app, and the lady assured me I will only use up one claim.
 
Is anyone here using a Galaxy Gear with their Note 3?

If yes. Do you also have connectivity issues between phone and watch?

The gear will not connect at all. If you reboot the watch it connects straight away with no problem.

This only started happening after the Tizen update.
