Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I never thought my Note 3 would get Lollipop before my Note 4. OS is nice and smooth, not too keen of the new colour scheme though. So far I've found one feature of the Note 4 that's been incorporated into the Note 3. Will see what else I can find that's new.

Fabulous!

Quick question...does the Note 3 firmware still have the Silent Mode in Lollipop?

The really sad thing for me is that Google\Samsung has only fixed it for the S5 in the Lollipop 5.1 ROM, which might still be a long way off. :(

No it doesn't have silent mode, I found it strange that they removed it.

I love Lollipop overall, you get all the software features of the Note 4. But having used my Note 4 for the past months, I was quickly reminded just how awfull the spen on the Note 3 are.

Damn, that sucks. :(

As I understand it, Google fixed it with the official Android 5.1 ROM, but somehow it does work on a tablet with Android 5.0 ROM.

Very weird. Well I suppose it wouldn't matter to most people that silent mode is gone, and you can still manually adjust the different volumes.

Most people, including myself, use it at work all the time. ;)

It's a bit hectic if ten people's phones start ringing in an open plan office, Silent mode is a life saver.

I couldn't agree more. My phone stays on silent, at work and home. I have my Gear on my wrist so no need for my phone to ring as well, and when I'm at home I couldn't care less who's call I missed.

Even if they call you to inform you that you've won a Land Rover in the Caltex competition?

Was this a OTA update or did you installa custom ROM ?

I have the same model on MTN and haven't yet received the update.

Touchwiz is actually very good on the Note and S5.
I was on cm11 then I missed the S-Pen features... Went back to TW Note 4 rom. Was nice to see the updated TW. Even with the revised interface I still missed the sleekness and speed of AOSP. Now I'm back on CM12.

TW is just too convoluted/bloated/ugly for my liking now.

Did anyone make a backup of the pit file if not them I'm going to flash this later this week when I get back home

Oh I can only dream, but I'm already a multimillionaire with all the money I've won in Coca Cola competitions and money that I inherited from relatives I never knew I had.
Ah, I forgot about your fifteen families in Nigeria! :)
