So here is my Battery Stats. Really not bad, I have stopped using TouchWiz and I'm now using Nova Launcher.

Seems like I get a lot more battery life with this launcher. My screen time is just under 3 hours and I'm currently on 50% juice left.

Trying to push this charge to atleast 2 days!

Unless you also changed your ROM, you're still using Touchwiz.

Quick question if I had to root my phone would I loose the Samsung warranty? Don't want to load a custom rom just want root access

Yes - you will. But you just unroot it again if you need to send it in. Not sure if there is a way to unroot yet - but there will be.
That said, I have RMA'd devices that were rooted - and even had custom ROM"s - and had no issue. Just lucky I guess.

I am about to root right now.

I got this message when opening the Samsung app. Sorry you are not in the region in which this device was allocated. I didn't root the phone as yet.

Sent them a mail and they called me back said I should delete it then install again and it works now said I don't need to have the app once registered

For the adventurous types.

NB: For the LTE N9005!
NB: You will void your warranty!
NB: You may brick your phone!
NB: This is root only. No custom recovery!

1. Download CF-Root http://download.chainfire.eu/352/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip and extract.
2. Download Odin https://hotfile.com/dl/196702311/668088d/Odin307.zip.html and extract.
3. Go Settings / General / Security and switch off Reactivation Lock.
4. Reboot into download mode (Power off, press and hold Vol Down + Home + Power. Select Vol Up when prompted).
5. Launch Odin (from step 2 above) as Administrator. If you cannot see your device connected in one of the blocks at the top, then install Kies or https://rapidshare.com/files/416304166/SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe and start over.
6. Make sure Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time are ticked. Leave other settings alone.
7. Click PDA and select CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 from step 1 above.
8. Click Start.

If you break your phone, don't complain to me. This is done entirely at your own risk!
The CF-Root package comes with Odin 1.85. I never used that though. I went with the Odin 3.07 from step 2.

EDIT: Not tested, but found an unroot guide if anyone needs it.

And another: http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-repair/how-to-unroot-galaxy-note-3/

EDIT: Used this guide http://setuix.com/root-samsung-galaxy-note-3-n900-n9005-4g/ for CWM.
Going this route is for both N9005 and N900 variants.
CWM working great and in the process of doing a NANDROID. Life is good.

With the s2 I rooted almost immediately and put on a custom rom. And then all the trouble started. I wont go near anything like that again. Luckily I dont feel the need to root now. Or get a custom rom. Thank you once again awesome note 3 for not forcing me to change you.

Rooted and custom ROM'd S2, S3, S4, N1, N2 and now root on N3. Not had problems on any of them.
Don't think I will custom ROM my N3 just yet. Quite happy with it. I do however need my root access.

I got the Note 3 last week, the N9005 from MTN, but I can't find any accessories in town. I tried MTN, Vodashop, Incredible, everyone is still waiting for stock..

Anyone know where I can get a screengaurd and a bodyglove/cabdase back cover ??

I'm trying to avoid cheap Chinese cases as the cutout for the charging port is usually not aligned correctly.

I also cannot find a case or anything.
Was going through my gadget drawer yesterday and found an official leather pouch and a flip cover from my Note 2 days. The Note 3 fits into the leather pouch, so using that until I get a nice case. Won't bother with the screen protector though.

If you find anything please let me know I need a screen guard and case urgently as well.

Cresta vodashop, altech autopage nicolway, cellucity melrose arch all have screen protectors. For those in JHB.

Hi guys,

This past weekend I've got the Note 3 from Vodacom, problem I have is the Vodacom Protect app is registered on my phone but when I go to the Vodacom Protect website to locate my phone I cannot login with the details I used to register the app. Any ideas?

Have you tried Vodacom helpcentre? They may be of assistance. I would also suggest if you looking to find your phone remotely, why not try the Samsung service instead? I think it is called Samsung Dive.

I haven't had the urge to ROOT my Note 3 yet. So far I'm happy with it the way it is. I bought Swiftkey and HD Widgets. Nothing else that I need right now.

The Note 3 is not a toy. I use it strictly for business... and fun.

Under settings the Vodacom Protect app directs me to the samsung findmymobile.samsung.com.
I've set up Avast AV which does almost the same thing so I'll use that for now.

Anyone else using BBM on their Note 3? I can't really see that it drains battery but my wife is using the S3 mini and it definately uses a lot of juice.

No battery drain here... but I've only got mine on the weekend so I'm not really sure what battery usage should be like.
