Thanks is saw that the prices have dropped at Kalahari.com. I will pay R119 more for it at Vodashop. I will probably get it from Vodashop to avoid waiting up to a week for it to be delivered though Kalahari.com

Why not wait a week and go for lunch at the Oudtshoorn Spur?

R1,100 at Vodashops (those that have stock).

Prices on the official wireless charging kit is crazy, the tech is based on the QI standard and a quick look on eBAy one can find similar far cheaper alternatives.

Wrt installation, with a bit of fiddling you may be able to mitigate the bulge and use most cases but first you will have to remove bits of the padding.
Installing

1) Remove the tape from the back of the element
2) carefully press and hold the pins to the top 2 pins
3) Lay the element down and make sure the tape is secure
4) close the back

Charging

The pad only has 1 element, more expensive ones have 2 elements making it less necessary to line it up. However the pad it comes with works just fine, you have to located the phone up a bit on the pad and the blue light will start to flash indicating it is charging

Seems a bit fat after the insert, is that normal?

Yes. You can mitigate this a bit by removing part of the sticker on the element in the phone. The sticker on the side facing the back can be removed CAREFULLY and then put the back on and it will be a bit slimmer.

There is no element available that will work perfectly with the original back, there will be even with one of the stickers removed a slight bulge.

The "Official" Wireless back is much thicker than the original one.

So if you buy that one, the back will be even thicker. I use the kit you have with a case without any issues.

How fast does it charge?

Slower, much slower than using the AC adapter and cable that came with the phone. That is because wireless charging is not as efficient as a direct wire method. It does charge well enough for me as I tend to use it to keep the phone charged rather than trying to charge the phone from near empty to full quickly. If you need to charge full quickly, use the wired charger.

Did any one get a samsung gift card worth R100 for registering their phone?

For some reason I keep getting the gift cards.
Downloaded Iron Man 3, then Man of Steel, then Last Samurai, and now busy with Great Gatsby.
I still have 5 movies that I can rent, and am out of ideas of what to download.

Listen peeps! I know this is off topic, but Neotel have a fantastic offer: Neosmart 100 @ R99/month for 24 months, INCLUDES 100 anytime minutes, 100 smses,1GB data AND an htc Dual Sim phone. This same offer is normally R399/month. You can also take the Neosmart 200 for R199 or the Neosmart 300 for R299. They have limited stock of the phone. I really think its a bargain!!!

I'm about to download SwiftKey. I have been using TouchPal X, so this is a free way to try it out.

Wish they had some premium games though, would have liked to abuse that.

So I found Empire: The Deck Building Strategy Game in the Samsung Store. I tried to buy using that voucher and it says I can't use that selected payment method. :( Lame.

Damnit... it wants to send me to the Google Play store!

Just use the free version of SwiftKey and when you happy with it go and buy it.

Really the greatest Keyboard I've come across. Been using it for about 2 and a half years now...

So far, so good. Seems to be on par with TouchPalX as far as features go. Maybe with use, I'll find it better?

Swiftkey "learns" as you use it. I did not like it when I first started using it, but over a few days it picked up my typing/swiping style and got pretty darned good. Sometimes the way it predicts my words freaks me out.

I was a Swype user before and persevered with Swiftkey purely because of the hype surrounding this app. Glad I did.

You guys must be loving the new Swiftkey. Probably very nice to use the thumb keyboard for typing on the bigger screen...
