That's correct. All data is routed via the Afrihost APN. Voice calls and SMS is still working through MTN. And speed is awesome.

That's why I changed my contract to Top Up years ago. No surprises at the end of the month.

Yeah, i am really careful with my data.
But I forgot to say, got my Note 3 and Gear about a week ago.
Phone is awesome, but watch still needs some work but has amazing features.
I had the original sony smartwatch and this is definitely a major step up from that.

Congratulations on your Note 3. One question about the Gear, do you have to charge it every day?
I charged it on sunday night and still has over 50% battery left
I am impressed with the battery and I use my phone and watch a lot. Have to charge phone every night, but not watch.
Correction.......I charged it fully on Monday night, so lasted Tuesday and Wednesday so far

Thanks that's good to know, but I don't think I'll ever go back to wearing a watch. On the other hand I wouldn't say no if someone were to gift me a Gear.

Not me......I'm loving it.
Doing some research into rooting it, and then should become even more functional

Just wear it to work to make my colleagues jealous.
Google Maps requires an active 3g connection. Both Sygic and Navigon don't need any connection, unless you want live traffic - their maps live on your device, not the cloud.

The battery drain when using any navigation/map app is high due to the screen on time. I don't quite like the Navigon interface (maybe i haven't used it enough yet) but it uses GPS instead of data which is good. Google Maps uses data and data connectivity while driving can be a bit erratic, especially when driving on the N3 to the Coast and you need to know where the speed traps are...
Not sure if Navigon provides this info like the GPS navigation devices...speed traps, speed limits, road condition warnings, etc.
