I find Temasek's CM11 to be the smoothest at this stage. Will do until the official nightlies come out... Which one did you go for?

I went for Temasek. Looks decent.
Just finished downloading.
Done a Titanium Backup of my apps, now a quick nandroid and good to go.

Edit: Is there 3rd party support for the S-View cover in Cyanogenmod? Got the ROM installed but not enjoying having to switch the screen on when opening the cover.

Word of advice... Flash the Temasek Kernel with his ROM, really sorts out battery life nicely. I'm idling at around 1% drain per hour at the moment

Hi Guys,

I'm going to ask a bunch of really dumb questions here, but here goes.

If I were to load up something like CM11 on my note or any other of the roms, does the S-Pen still work as expected?

If I were to use any drawing apps or apps to take notes on, does the s-pen stil work with full functionality and pressure sensitivity?

Are you aware of any features that are disabled after loading something like CM11 on it?

Sorry for the Noob question. The reason is because I have a Note 3 and a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. I use drawing apps like layerpaint and note apps to take notes on and was wondering if it would make sense to load up a ROM on my phone or tablet.

Were all of your experiences with ROMS good?

I canned it and went for stock CM11. The Temasek version was not stable on my phone. It kept randomly freezing the phone resulting in a battery pull. 6 freezes since install yesterday. Did a full wipe etc...
CM11 been on a few hours and all good so far.

I'm glad that I went for the snapdragon version. Custom ROM development is way ahead of the Xynos version

I'm running stock Jelly Bean and it's also stable and very very smooth.

That's great for those of us that can deal with TW... Personally I can't handle all the bloat, and not to mention the Comic Sans design language!

I'm using Nova Launcher Prime. And yeah, I also don't like the bloatware, but only root can sort that out.

You would be so wrong.

You can simply disable any app/service you dont want & its gone.

Ive disabled Samsung push service, apps, account, the whole works.

But...Touchwiz is awesome and the widgets absolutely fantasic.

You can disable, but not remove. Chaton, Samsung Hub, Samsung apps, and other Samsung bull**** are still there taking up space. Same with the useless Vodacom crap.

The new Touchwiz is a lot better than it used to be, I agree. S planner and the video player are far better than the Android stock alternatives and so is the multi-window. I also don't think I could live without the pen if I go to a custom ROM. I just wish we could take out the bloatware completely without rooting.

The 4.3 update I did, not only disabled all the bloatware, but also removes it from the app tray. Absolutely brilliant!

Ive got enough storage. 32GB on phone and 32GB SD card. Might upgrade to a 64GB SD card later.

Not saying I have too little space. Just that it sucks having to waste any of it on **** I don't want. Even if its 1 KB

BTW the Note 3 comes with 4.3 out of the box so I'm sure you meant something else.

N9005XXUENA6 – Leaked Android 4.4.2 KitKat Test Firmware for Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005)

Well, after leaking an Android 4.2.2 test build for the Galaxy S4, our Galaxy Note 3 members felt a little bit disappointed. To cheer them up, we have obtained a brand new Android 4.4.2 test firmware – N9005XXUENA6 - for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005).

This is one of the *final* Android 4.4.2 KitKat test builds for the Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005), that means nothing will be included or excluded in future builds of Android 4.4 for the giant phablet, except a few bug fixes and improvements here and there. We expect Samsung to officially start rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to the Galaxy Note 3 in 1/2 weeks, as always the update will begin in phases so it will obviously take months till it reaches all countries and carriers.

Thats good news, but going to wait for official release.
Anyone flashed it yet??

Downloading it now. Will flash when it is in.
This will be as good as the official release as it is the final leak before official.

EDIT: Trying to find a torrent download. The official download is k@k slow unless you go premium (which I am not doing for one download).
