So you have the Gear... I am so tempted to get one. Is it worth it? I heard some talk about a new Gear coming out with the S5, so maybe I should wait for that rather...

It was worth it for me, it wouldn't be to everyone's liking of course. What I love is the fact that I'm always connected to my phone when roaming neighboring offices at work, so I'll never miss a important call or message since I don't like to cary my phone with me.

Mike what's confusing to me is that the first link is just a cable yet the 2nd link is an adapter as well..

If your cable successfully connects your note 3 to your TV then why do they sell the Mhl adapter option?

I'm so confused

You don't need the adaptor if you get the Type A to Type D cable.
Otherwise, you can use a standard Type A to Type A (or Type C) cable and get an appropriate adaptor.
The adaptor just converts from one type to another.

Just read that you can't run any custom roms on the new bootloader, so once you flash no CM or anything else that TW...

I read u can't flash anything older but u will be able to flash 4.4 roms?

I thought the gear is a companion to the phone. Bluetooth connected. How does it work if you leave it at your desk?

Yes it's bluetooth connected, but it has quite a range before it disconnects from the phone.

When you get a notification, like a call or a WhatsApp does it vibrate or does the screen just light up? Does the Gear make any noise itself? I take it it doesn't have its own LED?

When you get a call the Gear rings and the display lights up and give you the option to swipe to answer, or answer by voice command. The same with Google+, WhatsApp, Gmail, Messaging etc. The Gear makes a notification sound and the display lights up to show you a preview of the message. You're right it doesn't have a LED. You do however have the option to have your notifications as either Sound, Vibrate or Mute.

The Gear vibrates whenever it's out of range of your phone. A handy feature for those who tend to misplace their phones at home is the ability to find your phone with the Gear. Same goes for the Gear, you can find it with your phone.

I'm a very heavy (phone call) user and this is the first device to make it to the end of the day (I mean close to bed time).

I'm very impressed with the battery. World's apart from S3/S4 and iPhone.

Time for a new SD card.

My old 32GB SD card did that, got a new one, problem solved.

Received my N9005 on Saturday, and very happy with the phone. One thing though, I have had 4 android devices now, and always loaded CM as soon as I could. Looks like it might be an issue with this knox business:(
