Have the same problem. Would have thought network free devices would be first inline.

Do any of you guys have an issue with exchange mail on kit kat ? My sent items just does not want to sync no matter which version of 4.4 I try

Hi everyone, first time posting in this thread :)

Got my Note 3 last week Monday in white. My HTC One X actually broke and the insurance replaced it with the Note :D So I'm very lucky there!

It's a Vodacom branded one, and on Sunday the Kitkat update was available so I went for it. I unfortunately haven't read through all 200+ pages (I tried! haha) so forgive me if I missed any important info.

@kevIE I didn't notice any issues with Exchange on KitKat, seems to works exactly as it did on 4.3 (stock, no root). Maybe try removing and re-adding the exchange account if you haven't already tried that.

A question from me, does anyone know where one could locally get one of those armbands for the note 3 that makes it easier to exercise/jog with it? I found them on Wantitall but shipping is 2-3 weeks so any local options would be great! I may resort to wantitall if I can't find it though

I don't know, I went from the stock Vodacom 4.3 to Polish 4.4 to UK 4.4 without a factory reset, but I think a battery pull might help as well as cleaning the cache.

I flashed the BTU version last night and phone is running great. Its definetly a little faster, and prefer how the notification appear.
But anyway, also notice that 'android system' is right up there with screen.
currently: 47% charge, screen 23%, android system 22%, voice calls 10%, android os 10% and so on.
Not too concerned as I have been busy on phone all day and battery is performing as usual.

I have a Vodacom branded N9005 Note 3. I am on holiday in the UK, and got an OTA notice to update to KitKat.

1. Is it safe to update my Vodacom N3 here in the UK ?
2. Will I still get the Vodacom bloatware on the update, and will it be a different version to the SA one ?
3. Data is not a problem - I am on an unlimited data prepaid SIM with 3 network (15 pounds a month, includes 3000 texts and 300 anytime minutes, unlimited data) - not on my original Vodacom SIM....obviously....or would go home broke :D
4. I would hate to stuff up my sweet working N3, and will wait until I am back in SA if it is not recommended

Thanks

If you had Vodacom/Vodafone passport, you pay local rates in UK.

The update is phone related, not area related. By saying that I mean that if you have a Vodacom SA device, you will get the Vodacom SA update even if you are in the UK.

It doesn't mean because you are in the UK you will get the UK update.

So yes, you can go ahead with the update. Your phone will still be Vodacom branded.

Trading my Note 3 for an iPhone 5S just now :p

/Flame suit on.

Why would you even say this? Poor guy. I am sure you will get use to that tiny tiny tiny tiny screen again...

Actually nope. Nope you won't. I know a guy who can do a finger trimming surgery. Hit me up for his details.

Lol. This thing is freaking tiny. Thumbs keep hitting each other - lol.

Besides the tiny screen, are you happy with the trade? Any regrets?

So far, no regrets. Been playing with it since I got it this AM. Seriously don't like the keyboard though.

The note makes it sooooo easy to wind out lengthy emails. It is however nice being able to put my phone in my pocket and not notice it :)

You should have told me, I still have my Galaxy S2. ;)

I like the write feature (with your finger).
