As far as i am aware, android as locked down the write access in the latest version from 4.4.2 and can only read from it. I am thinking via usb it allows you to right but once the file is there, you are not able to delete, rename or overwrite it. Not 100% sure on this.

SD copy problem

Sometimes when copying music to my MicroSD in my Note 3 over the usb connection, it bombs out, and won't copy anymore. This results in me having to reconnect the device, or files becoming locked, so that I can't write the file with the same name again. Why is this? What's going on here, is it a hardware or software problem?

Do you have a password/pattern locked Lockscreen? As that might be what causes it to stop, the moment the phone goes into sleep and locks itself.

Lol the guys in the G3 thread getting 3hrs screen on and they think that's brilliant.

Well to be fair it is a super-duper ultra HD (or whatevz) display...
No man. I've a fair few reviews. They should be hitting minimum 4hrs at least. I just find it funny cos 3hrs is what I used to get on my 1800mAh One X;)

I suppose you'd have to look at th voltage/output etc. Usually the only problem is that they make the phone thicker.

Note 4 coming... Buyers remorse setting in. Only got it in May.

There's ALWAYS something else coming. It's pretty ridiculous actually these days. Don't worry though, you won't miss much. A consequence of releasing a new damn phone every year or 6 months is that no real advancement can take place in such short time.

Yeah suppose we'll be primed for the Note 5 with 2 year contracts. That would probably be worth the upgrade. Also it takes custom rom development quite a while to take shape with new phones. CM only got stable around Jan/Feb.

I'm thinking of buying this battery: www.mpjbattery.com/mpj-4500mah-high...sung-galaxy-note-iii-3-n7200-n9000-n9005.html

Any experience with non-original batteries? I'm afraid it might mess with the phone, but I'm not so sure. Are there other reliable brands I should try instead?

I bought this 8000 mAh battery about 6 weeks ago - yes !!!! 8000 mAh, twice the capacity...and size, of the standard battery, and they supply it with a bigger back cover.

I did some thorough testing with it. I expected twice the life out of it, having twice the capacity....but I found in reality that it lasted about 30 - 40 % longer than the standard battery. But it works fine with the phone.

I don't use it...I don't like the bigger form factor, makes the phone bulky....and it no longer fits in its pouch with the bigger battery.

But...I will take it along on long trips, or away in the bush where there are no convenient charging points

Twice the capacity would be 6600. 8000 is a lot more than that, I'm surprised you get such a small increase in battery life. I guess the Samsung OEM stuff is just a lot better built than a Chinese knockoff. Or their measuring methods are different.

Isn't it a 3200 mAh battery?

ZeroLemon is pretty much the only reputable aftermarket battery I have seen on websites and YouTube. I've seen guys on XDA get 10 hours screen on time with that.

The stock battery is pretty decent but when you leave GPS on and use Waze/Maps it dies fairly fast. So I have spent about R80 on a car charger that charges almost the same speed as a wall socket. No need for extra bulk on the phone itself.
