Hey guys,

I want to know what is going on. This morning i recieved a notification that there's an update available. I connected my phone to my PC and started downloading the update. As soon as the update was finished I suspected ICS because it downloaded almost 650mb.... But ja. I am still on 2.3.6.....

Do anybody know what is going on? Something has changed though. My qwerty is totally different.

Any advise?

I have done exactly the same thing with exactly the same update. Unfortunately I have no idea what has happened.

I didn't see filesize, but it took about 20minutes on a 4meg line so I would assume so.

According to Samsung June. But what update was this.

O ja, the German ICS Rom is 614mb if I'm not mistaken. Hopefully ours won't be any larger

Looks like the update removed the root from my note. Cannot get it rooted again with the steps I used previuos from XDA. Anyone have a similar problem (and maybe solution)

I had the 2.3.6 update on my Note for a while, Yes it did remove my root. I then followed the procedure in the link from my last post. Phone is now rooted with ICS ;)

How is it running? Keen to do this myself, but just want an opinion on it first.

Still no ICS for NOTE ZA

ICS for Note in SA is undergoing carrier approval currently :)

I mailed Vodacom about this and this is their reply (today):

"Please note that ICS is not yet available on our Network for the Samsung Galaxy Note.

We are still waiting on Samsung SA to submit it to us for testing.

We do apologise for the inconvenience."

Then I had a live chat with Samsung SA and this is their reply(today):

"It can be any time from now we dont have a release date yet."

Asked why and they said:

"It was released for S2 but it got some bugs so they are busy working on it"

So thats it no ICS for the Note anytime soon...the world will be swimming in Jellybean while we sit with Gingerbread.
