Samsung Galaxy Note ICS update

These network providers are useless... They could also just be too worried about the brick bug, and are waiting on Samsung in Korea to produce a fix for it.... Either way, the more I'm thinking about it, the more I'm convinced that DIY is the only way to go..... Yes, the brick bug is a very real danger, but, if you flash the safe kernel right after you flash ICS, you should be safe from danger

Step 1: Root your Note
Step 2: Flash AbyssNote Kernel 4.2
Step 3: Wipe X3
Step 4: Flash your choice of ICS ROM

I have flashed 3 ROMs already this way....

I'm Running RocketRom V7, its smooth, fast & reliable. I have had no freezes (happened on both stock GB & ICS), and my battery life is waaaaay better.

Kies advised this morning that there is a firmware update for my Note.

It doesn't say its ICS but since the download speed is measuring an average of no better than 111Kbps - my working assumption is that this is ICS.

You might want to wait until the rush is over. I'm only at 5% after more than an hour (and I have fast connection) so if you need to be out an about it won't be convenient!

Pity there is not an SA based cached copy to reduce demand on the Samsung server (which clearly can't cope)

My speed remains stuck in Kbs and as I approach 2hrs still only at 7% downloaded. Pathetic.

Mines done and dusted already. Downloaded at full speed this am. Finished installing it about an hour agao
