Samsung Galaxy Note SA coming to SA in 2011

What a beast of a phone - in terms of specs. lol @ 5.3 inch screen. Is it a phone or tab?

I definitely want one of these, I just wish I could test drive one first. if it works like they intend this could be a pretty nifty replacement for my netbook for note taking in lectures

As an alternative for a tab for a student to take notes with the stylus I definitely see it as a great product with potentially a very strong following.

Now just to find things I would use it for to justify the size...

LOL "Battery (Standard) Li-on, 1,200mAh" Should last about a morning...

Im not sure where the figures for the size and weight come from, according to the table it is both smaller and lighter than Samsung's Galaxy SII

Nope, this thing is definitely biğer than the SGSII.

My limit for a touchscreen phone is 4.5''. This is huuuge.

I'm getting this to replace my iPhone 4 next year. I want a bigger screen and not to keen on tablets.

My Samsung Galaxy S lasts about 5 days with the packet data disabled, 24-36 hours with it enabled (with use), so I'm sure this thing would last a day or 2 at least if the packet data were to be disabled, or more. Not a bad size screen. I'd love to try one out.

/Waits for Apple to copy Samsung now

Looks pretty neat though:

Disabling packet data on a smartphone kinda defeats the purpose.

Needs a bigger battery.

Yip. 1200mAh is ridiculous. My HTC Desire comes standard with 1400mAh battery, and at 3.7", the screen size is almost half that of the SG Note. Battery should be at least 2500mAh

If you do not want to use it as a phone, why not just get a tab?

Can't put a tablet in my pocket and if I do get a call then I'd like to have the option, plus I do use sms. I wouldn't mind a tablet but it's not genuinely portable, the Note appears to be. The Note has twice the battery power you're all quoting. Don't know what's going on at myBB, here are the correct specs:
