So I've had my S2 for over a year and have been very happy with it.

Taking off the Casemate cover the other day to clean the lens I noticed that when I take the cover off the silver bit in the middle of the phone chips (like the painted silver bit comes off)

I was wondering if anyone knew if this was repairable or replaceable. The places I've contacted want to replaced the whole LCD for about R1700 which I don't find necessary as the chipping is not on the screen just on the middle housing bit.

I've attached a photo of the problem.

This is a normal problem on the S2. Only way is to replace the screen because of the process involved in attaching the screen (it is an ugly process).

Just put the cover back on - if you can't see it, it won't annoy you. Unless you planning on selling it?

If you need convincing that a cover is the best option...

The lowest trade price I have ever found for the i9100 white front/LCD unit is R1200.00 for a genuine Samsung item.

The general trade price here in SA is closer to R1400.00 for the said item. The original item is not available as separate Front & LCD and even if they were, you'd almost certainly break your good LCD trying to remove it.
