Still got my GS2 running Stock Samsung 4.1.2, looks good as new, sitting as a backup to my GS4. But I think I will trade in my GS2 when I upgrade to the Note 4 later this year, as lovely as the GS2 is the screen is now far too small for my liking, it has little Internal memory (just 16GB), it charges far too slowly and it's battery life isn't a patch on the GS4, so, I'll keep the GS4 as a back-up when I get the Note 4.

That is way overpriced. Phone a Samsung store. I got my original battery at TTS group store (repair agents for Samsung) for R140.

Will try that... I did a factory reset and set the phone up for my mom and battery has been fine so far.

Me thinks the impending upgrade is timely

As probably one of the first in SA to get an s2 I must say I absolutely adored it when I first got it.The size and everything about it was perfect.

An issue that starting becoming very annoying after the first week was the relatively low resolution screen, you could clearly see each pixel on the screen, the deep blacks did somewhat make up for it but it was always noticeably especially if you came from the retina iphones at the time. For some reason it felt less plasticky to me than the s3/s4/s5.

Actually come to think about it the s3 is probably their best phone made,it got everything right, screen resolution, power, looks are subjective I know but I still liked the s3 more when it launched.Sorry s2 fans I absolutely hated the resolution on the s2 and it bothered me a lot when using it,so the s3 takes the crown for me.

It's why i went for the Xperia S instead.
Using it as a plex client now but it has a pretty decent screen @ 720p

My daughter now has my wife's S Plus and is very happy with it :)

The PPI on the Xperia S is fantastic even by today's standards still very sharp.

Yea, looks *** next to my S5 though

But as it is able to play plex stuff through 2 walls and about 30meters of outdoors (to a granny flat) via wifi it is still very useful :)

Where can I find a TTS group store?

Quick Google suggests they might only be in PE. I think any Samsung agents should have it at that price. I've checked the receipt it was actually R180 but still a decent price for an original battery.

Hated my S2, upgraded to an S5 and absolutely loving it.

Had issue with the S2 from the start, losing reception, GPS connectivity was bad. Calls would just drop or not connect, phone would automatically reset when it auto rotates.. endless issues.

So happy I can finally put it to bed now.

Did you by any chance change your location settings. On my S2 the GPS stopped working with Endomondo when I allowed google to track my location. Switched it off and magically the GPS worked again.

Installed WizzedKat ROM on my S2 and I am very impressed.

Very stable and my S2 feels brand new! Pure win. :D
