Except for the fact they are FSCKING annoying to use with the phone.
I'm cool with it. I used one with a Note, S3 and S4 before the S5 now. Actually feels funny to handle a phone without one

Sorry, I just noticed this now.
Hard to explain, I'll try - my observations, the plastic protector scuffs easily, over a short period of time the accumulated scuffs do two things, 1. You can feel the stuffs when swiping, and 2. The plastic becomes increasingly difficult to keep clean and actually clean the grime. For some reason oil from fingers seemingly bond nicely to plastic compared with glass.
If you use the anti-glare plastic, you have a smoother glide but pixelated screen - that grates me mostly. If you use the normal plastic, you have a better viewing experience but a not-so-smooth glide.
With glass - it cleans with an easy wipe on my shirt, grime don't stick to it easily. The glide is smooth at all times. The viewing is not affected at all. I've had it on for three weeks, it does not have one scratch or scuff whatsoever - this could change tho.
In conclusion, with glass I have no compromises, I experience the exact feel and touch of the hard naked screen, something I don't get with plastic and therefore feel cheated when I use plastic, so much so that I even bought an S-view flip-cover to lose the need for a plastic protector.
Out of curiosity I just googled the topic 'tempered glass versus plastic screen protector'. Every forum I read had shared my sentiments almost exactly.Sorry, but I don't agree with your observations. I use an imported lifetime guarantee clear plastic on my N5 and a Body Glove clear plastic on my S5. Die both I have the same smooth glide as if it glass. Both screen protectors clean easily against my shirt. While I still had my S2 without any screen protectors, the difficulty/ease to clean oily fingerprints or residue after a phone call is exactly the same. On neither the N5 or the S5 is the screen quality compromised in any way. No rings, no pixelation or any deformations. The only point I will agree with you on is scuffing. Because I an using plastic, it will show sooner and/or perhaps never on yours depending on how you treat your phone. The only thing I can think of is that you bought really crap plastic screen protectors when you tried them - after all, screen protectors are not created equal.
Have a black one on my Note 3 and I'm actually happy with itThese covers are excellent. They stick out a bit round the edges and really feel premium. Protects the screen from scratches in the pocket and has survived 2 drops wjen getting out of the car.

I usually hate flip covers and stopped using them within a week on my Note 2 and about a month on my G2... This one folds back a lot better than any I've ever used. I'm impressed so farExcept for the fact they are FSCKING annoying to use with the phone.
S view cover is pretty awesome actually...
Okay - I did a bit of reading using the same topic as you did. There are compelling arguments to use the tempered glass. I have to wonder how the slight edge will feel - on the S5, it would probably end flush with the chrome edge which might actually make for a nicer experience. It is clear that a lot of those people do prefer the tempered protectors albeit a small sample of those who agree with the authors. Some of the comments are clearly from the stupid bin, but we need them in our lives too ...Out of curiosity I just googled the topic 'tempered glass versus plastic screen protector'. Although I'm not disputing what you say - at all - it must however be said, from what I just sampled online, that your experience is the exception rather than the rule, and in all probability it must be the good quality protectors you using.
Belts and braces ... you can never be too careful!I've never used a screen protector and never will.
My S5 is insured and has two screen replacements with ADH Premium, so why not enjoy my phone as it was meant to be?
*Also don't use a flip cover or case, because....yup, you've guessed it, I'm with the yellow umbrella.![]()
does your boyfriend like it too?
If I had one, he probably would, since he'd have to be highly intelligent ...
Is anyone here using notifications for TapaTalk? I can't get it to work on the S5 but on the N5 it works fairly well.

It is exactly the same for the N5 where it works fairly well
Just got my repaired phone couriered to me.
It was a truly efficient process - completely seamless. Busy restoring my backup as I type here.
If Samsung keeps the ADH for future models, I don't think I can justify getting a different brand next time around.
