Ok, switched notifications on in Tapatalk, went into each forum and switched them off, then went back to Tapatalk and switched them off again. Belt and braces approach seems to have worked.

I use my tapatalk account for most forums but I find logging into mybb itself is best with mybb.

I tried that before, but found that one app is enough for me.

Now going to clear data and set up TapaTalk from scratch ...

The only notifications I use is whatsapp and sms. Everything else off.
