Also a lot of people who jumped on with the S3 saw basically the exact design ethos rinsed and repeated with the next two s series phones. They're bound to jump ship in search of something fresh and less "meh".

You can't speak for all. I went from the S3 to the S5. My GFs S3 upgrade is due soon and she may get my S5 as I'm I'm looking at the Galaxy Tab S 8.4, which is basically a blown up S5. Meh is what Apple did phone after phone...

My view is that any phone you get just becomes another phone very quickly after the novelty wears off. I've had no issues with the Galaxy range so why not stick with it, even if the improvements are incremental. Especially when nothing else is jumping out that is a must have.

The S5 is an incredible upgrade from the S3, both in hardware and software & you cannot really compare it.

Until recently, the S5 wore the crown for the smartphone with THE best display ever put inside a smartphone, then the Note 4 took the crown - and it shows!

The S5 is also insanely fast, where the S3 would lag, due to 1 GB RAM and much slower processor.

Personally I think the S5 is a beautiful phone.

S5, great phone? For sure!
S5 beautiful phone? Hmmm, I don't think so

But look out for the S6, I have a feeling it's going to be awesome (in the looks department).

Yea look you went for that black or white or blue plastic thing.

So I loaded the unofficial Lollipop Cyanogen Mod 12... I rather like the interface change. Only took a few minutes to adjust. Nice one Google ;)

How's the functionality? I'm assuming this is an alpha and is not at nightly stage yet?

I have found one issue only so far, the AOSP keyboard crashes when I try swipe. Other than that everything works.

Sweet. I'd love to try but I've got a dual sim S5 now so I'll need to do a bit of research and see where that leaves me.

Anyone else experiencing an issue with wifi and know of a solution? I'm reading about it online from others but no solutions...

The problem: When I get a phone call my wifi disconnects. It has always done this but when I finish the call it usually reconnects automatically. The problem is suddenly it isn't reconnecting. I need to go into wifi settings, view available networks and then it connects. I don't need to physically ask it to connect.

And it is not router specific as it happened at work too.

Any suggestions or similar experiences?

I'd take that into the service centre. Well, I'd probably try another rom such as the BTU one from sammobile first but that's me :)
