Samsung Galaxy Tab available on Vodacom - pricing details

Two and three year contracts at those prices? A year from now that thing will be so outdated, never mind two or the craptacular three. Moving right along.

you would have to be an idiot to pay that...
 
Samsung P1 Galaxy Tab @ R220 pm + R159 pm for 36 mths on Std My Meg 300 / Top Up data Std My Meg 300 (total R379 pm) Cheapest 36months contract.

This option comes down to just under R13000 for the device.. No thanks.
 
...what, so even when the whole world rejected them on their absurd ADSL pricing, they still haven't learned from their mistakes. so they continue with this extortion. Vodacom do you really think a lot of people will buy it at those prices on a 24 - 36 month contract?! Very few months down the road then the device will already be outdated and old, compared to new ones as everyone is now entering this market. Great device, but with these extortion prices, I'll stay with my notebook

People are dumb and like shiny things. I'm 100% sure some fools will get this on the insane contracts sadly.
 
I really feel sorry for the people that are going to get suckered into this one.

A THREE year contract, seriously Vodacom, just shows us how good business is doing if they're able to quote prices like those without fear of losing customers.

I do blame Samsung partly though, those tabs are seriously overpriced. I mean R7-8K?! Who wouldn't rather just get a decent notebook?!

F. vodacom. Im sick of their insane prices!!!!! nevermind moving along.... moving to another service provider. That is just a slap in the face. (nothing new there i guess)
 
Ouch, that's expensive.

I will wait for the Archos 101 to be officially available in SA. My sources tell me they will arrive in December :) Now that will be worth while.
 
Vodacom and Samsung missed the train on this one. The device is ridicously overpriced for the hardware you're getting and then inflating the price with 2/3 year contracts. FAIL
 
How much is this thing cash anyway?
 
I am looking at importing myself a tab from China with almost the same specs as this one for R2k. Only thing missing that I can see is the build in 3G. With the one I am after I have to use a USB 3G modem.
Not to mention there are guys on BidOrBuy selling Android 2.2 tabs with 1Ghz procs and 512mb RAM for around R2k as well.

Ye, it may be a risk getting a chinese knockoff, but willing to take the chance considering the massive price difference.
