Is that the WM6.1 upgrade or just a firmware upgrade?
 
I've just loaded the one in the link and have 6.1 ... but no threaded SMS :/

Is that official from Samsung SA?
 
I dunno ... I just did it ;)

Been waiting for this for ages ... specifically the threaded SMS feature which is supposed to be default. Maybe mine didn't upgrade 100% ...

Let me know if you succeed
 
Just tried again ... I got to 100%, but I never see 'job done' and it just sits there :/

I eventually need to remove my battery and hope it will start (which it did ...)

I am waiting fo my dad to surrender his phone now. This would be my first attempt with Mirage program. Will backup the settings and sms/phonebook first with 3rd party software.
 
hehe ... g'luck ;)

My 2nd attempt did work (actually even the first worked) but both don't have threaded SMS - the one feature I want.

Use any free registry editor and edit the following registry key in your PPC.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Inbox\\Settings
SMSavailable="1" will enable sms chat
SMSavailable="0" will disable

Go download this and load it on your i780
http://freewareppc.com/utilities/phmregistryeditor.shtml

Copy the following into your notepad and save it as sms.reg on your 780.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:00000001

No space between the g and s in the Settings word above, don't know why it's displayed like this.

Run PHM Registry editor and import sms.reg into your phone.

Now you should have the sms thread function enabled.

If you haven't tried the upgrade, are you able to type in *#1234# and tell me what versions you have?

Just gone in and checked these settings ... my SMSAvailable is already="1" :/

Both of mine are different figures ... which I kinda get the feeling is wrong. Did you get the 'job done' message at the end?

Yes, I have got the job done prompt. Can't remember if both read that.
