I have quite a few running at the moment,
1. Samsun PC share - great manageable folders from TV menu, but restricted, and i think needed for Messaging...With TV
2. Servio - running ok, new version was released but yes it is intermittent...Free
3. Windows 7 Media player 12 (on homegroup) - Excellent as you can even wirelessly from a remote laptop or comp, right click a file and select Play to:> B650, then it will play up on TV, currently my fav....Free with Win7 Ultimate
4. Media Portal - Excellent TV server for HTPC, still getting the tv server to work, but the media share is reliable... Free
5. Nero8 - Media centre sharing is okayish and reliable, but i find it very slow with startup even on a quad core...Paid
6. Twonky integrated with Nokia OVI suite - I have set it up but dont like it as it is also slow and resource hungry, havent used many features...with new Nokia fones.
7. home media server old N97 - used to be free, but now paid..not good at all
8. XBMC - Great HTPC software if you have xbox, it will integrate well too, very good media sharing capability... free
Since you running Win7, id say do as i did, set up your libraries and sharing from windows explorer, in networking you should see the TV, if not allow media sharing on homegroup, then in media player 12 enable streaming. then make sure the TV is set to allow other devices to control it. I have it really cool, I can simultaneously set my laptop to stream from my mvix, to my Desktop PC, the desktop PC to stream to the TV, and from my cellphone to my Laptop, all through my wireless router.
I suggest you rather look at using windows media centre also free with Win7, the movie video browser is crap, but download and install an extension called media browser
http://www.mediabrowser.tv/ and YAMM from
http://mikinhosoft.blogspot.com/2009/05/yammm-yet-another-media-meta-manager.html
With these plugins Yamm will automatically sort your movie folders download DVD covers and synopsis for movies, actor info etc, media browser will allow you to view them like scrolling through DVD actual covers. i use this most of the time as my Desktop PC is connected via HDMI to the B650.
all DLNA phones were supposed to work with the B650 messaging, unless samsung is screwing us over to only buy their crappy phones. still cannot get my DLNA n95/n97 to work with TV
