Hi All
I'm not familiar with the mid range phones and I'm looking at this one to buy as a gift for a friend.
Price R3k on Takealot.

Reviews seems good.

She will be using phone for the usual stuff: WhatsApp, Google, Facebook, etc.

What's you opinion? I'm not dead set on Samsung (I myself went to a LG G4 because of ridiculous price of the S6 then. Quite happy with it), and will consider others.

I got a Samsung J5 as an upgrade on my MTN contract in September - very happy with it so far.

It is a perfect mid-spec Android phone - has enough internal RAM for all my downloaded apps (I also have a 16 GB MicroSD card installed and have moved most of my apps there to release quite a lot of internal storage capacity) - and it has decent performance and excellent battery life as well.

Highly recommended!

xiaomi mi4 for another R700 will get you a top tier phone. Or the xiaomi mi note 2 is the same price but 5.5 inch screen, full hd and 2gb ram
