Samsung Kies problem

i tried to install the following version of Kies (Kies_2.3.2.12074_13_13) but i keep on getting the following error..

"You are not connected to the internet. Please check the internet connection and try again". I am connected :confused:

I had the same problem with the previous version.

Running XP SP3 through firewall at office.

any suggestions will be welcomed.
 
Kies sucks ass dude!!

So glad I dont have a sumsung anymore, the software that came with my HTC works on every PC, Kies always had problems.

Samsung is good at making phones, they must just stay away from making software for computers, rather let another company develop it for them.

And I think it is your firewall at the office that is the culprit, almost nothing I install at work will connect to the internet because of firewalls and proxy settings.

Allow Kies to use the internet, or temporarily disable the Windows Firewall when installing Kies.

What you can also try is disabling the network or simply pulling out the Lan cable, then install Kies then reconnect the Lan/network cable.

nope, none of these work :-(
 
Strange, I just blocked all internet access for Kies and it starts and works with my phone without any problems. Kies is probably the best phone software Samsung has made though that said it is still a load of crap.

You could try and search for Alternative to Samsung Kies and see what you find, one of the things that might be worth looking at is called MyPhoneExplorer from www.fjsoft.at

There's often a healthy amount of alternative software for accessing your cellphone though it might not have some features like updating the firmware.


You really should try give as much information as you can when asking for help on something, since you didn't even say what phone you have it's hard to tell you what might work better instead or even if you can get it done without any special software at all. Like if you just want to transfer files to your Samsung Android phone you could just put it into storage mode and copy things over in explorer, but if you want to export your contacts that wouldn't work.

I want to update the firmware, but i cant even get KIES installed
