Hi All,

I have just gotten myself a Samsung S22+, moving from Huawei because of the the Google issue.

When connecting an external SSD drive via OTG the S22+ does not identify/recognize the HDD.

Hard drive works well, when I connect to my old Huawei I have no issues.

Any ideas.

It was NTFS, changed to I think fat32. Samsung A8 tab picks it up without any issues.

Where do I switch on OTG, if I use paragon software then it identifies. But I shouldn't use 3rd party app right

Oh, the dreaded NTFS. Not all smartphones have "NTFS" driver support, it is a kernel module that needs to be loaded, before being mounted, so probably Samsung don't have native support for NTFS compiled in.

I had an early Samsung tablet that had OTG capabilities, but then loaded a custom rom with the NTFS driver and mounted the NTFS drive manually with a root 3rd party app. This was yonks ago, maybe like 7-8 years ago.
I rarely had to enable OTG on my current smartphones, so YMMV.

Sounds like someone didn't update the new phone's firmware/software yet ...
I have the latest firmware installed, see attached. Any recommendations for apps that will mount the drive, paragon forcing me to buy
