Samsung T260 died

Yeah, saw a Linksys WRT54GL router in their shops for about R1200, when you can get it for half that just about anywhere else. Their pricing is so uneven on some things.

Concerning the monitor, the GTX260 will give wonderful results on that screen, and it is most likely one of the rare LCD duds that get out past quality control.

Actually the way they stay in Business is genius :)

Rip off the rich/naive who think paying more means better quality :p, they have become better though and you can get some decent deals there but in general they rip off as many as possible.
 
Considering the retail price it is cheaper than any other retailers I could find. On top of everything IC actually had them in stock. I wouldn't buy from them in general but their specials are decent...
 
Incredible Corruption give you a 7 day refund warranty. Instead of replacement you should have demanded your cash back and gone to a different IC store and bought a brand new one. Now you have to wait for a replacement, which could be a monitor someone else returned and be full of fingerprints, missing parts and maybe even dead pixels. Next time demand money back and go somewhere else - in your case a different branch.
 
Why is everyone so against IC? Jeez people, they are not that bad... OK, i must admit, the sales techs on floor are not very clever...but other than that, you walk in, you look around, and buy what you want.

The funny thing was, I did my research online, and got prices from stores like Prophecy (which didnt even have the screen), Sybaratic, Jump, etc... and all of them were asking R 5400+ for the same screen at that time.

They used to be (back in the days - 1994 till 2005) very expensive place, but these days, they are on track with prices. The thing with online stores, is they jippo the tax system, and thus you pay less for components. IC cannot do that.

Howcome Prophecy/Sybaritic is cheaper on some parts than Rectron reseller pricelist? That to me is dodgy all the way.

Crusader, i've upgraded from an LG T910 CRT screen to this T260, and my oh my, its the best ever! I even hooked it up to our DSTV HD PVR decoder via HDMI, and its supurb. I've had no trouble with my since then, playing COD4/5, watching dvd's - and i love the touch sensitive power button - uber cool.

You do know that rectron aren't the only suppliers in south africa right?
 
I did demand a brand new monitor and the send a new one. The thing is that once you insert the baseplate for the T260 stand you aren't gonna get it out again - I could'nt with the one I send back, so you will easily spot a returned one.

My new one arrived a couple of hours ago and this one works! Played around in CoD and Dead Space and it takes gaming to a new level. I LOVE mine even after the first being a dud.

There was a moment of panic when I changed the res in CoD but this one had no problems.

Congratulations, and have lots of fun. Playing games at that resolution is simply the best feeling ever, but it truly makes watching dvd's painful, at least in my view. With such a high res screen, you can see just how small dvd really is, and that upscaling doesn't really do things justice.

It's an addiction, I wouldn't trade my 24" in except for a superior Dell model or a 30" :D
 
Yea trade in is pretty good ... I got a digital camera for R3099.00 and every other shop was about R3500.00. Even the online stores were more expensive.

I traded a 35mm Pentax film point and shoot worth about R50.00 and got R600.00 off ...
