That is fine, but that has very little to do with crime, why would police even look in SANRALS direction? Who's to say you did not take out your etag to go commit a crime? You don't HAVE to drive under a gantry after you have committed a crime. His statement has absolutely no merit.

You miss the point: if the plate is cloned, the cloners will pass under a gantry at any given time making for a long record of passes. It then becomes obvious that a red bakkie and a blue golf have the same plate and only the red bakkie has a tag. I am not defending sanral here for one minute but I can see where he drew this logic from, other than the usual source (his ass!)

Can somebody try this idea: The gantries have UV lights with a purple hue. Put transparent UV paint on your numberplate that is clear under normal light, but blocks the number plate under UV light. Then wait to see if you get picked up and sent a bill.

Cosatu's Patric Craven made an interesting comment on 702/capetalk when not noted that SANRAL are claiming 3 Billion per month income in spite of the outstanding not paid portion, and, if true, this would confirm that the cost of eTolls is excessive and that the public are being ripped off.

How is the ANC going to explain this away?

Didn't he say 300 million a month, after saying their goal is 200 million?

But they haven't reached their compliance target yet, so the conclusion is the same. They basically admitted to ripping us off.

Then you see nothing, there is no logic, the police questioning you for a cloned plate has nothing to do with e-tolls or SANRAL or even eNatis beyond Enatis telling whos car is linked to this number plate.

The cloned number plate issue will only be resolved if SANRAL assists the authorities to actively catch cars with cloned plates.

lol.. and petrol price going up 30c this month.. 20c tax + petrol prince change next month.. so uhm.. yah live close to work peoples. Kinda why im moving again meh. No etolls for me, ever.
