Sanral: E-toll registrations pick up

Cannot wait for 30 April to see how the protests turn out.

I do worry though that it will be a massive protest ........................................ and then nothing.

I am more concerned about the progress of the Three Court Cases.

And Vavi and his cronies will secretly say "Shooo, that was close. Lets share the spoils".
He'll smile all the way to the bank either way.

Doesn't matter. If we don't pay there's F-all they can do about it, and even if many people in SA wussy out again and the tolls go ahead successfully, I still don't care, they (and everyone paying) can go f*** themselves.

I see the protest more as a "look, fuc***s, we told you, we showed you.... Now accept the inevitable and learn to deal with it"

Eurocar are sell outs. I have a hire car in Durban with a ND number plate and an etag. It looked like all their cars in the car park had etags.

So if you have cars that are miles away having etags this could just be more SANRAL BS.

Well, then its time to let these companies know, if you have an e-tag, we wont be supporting your company.

Excuse my ignorance but how do they plan to deal with people who did not register and do not have e-tags? How do they get charged for driving through a gantry?

How do they get charged for driving through a gantry?

An invoice in the post every two weeks.

...which you must pay within 7 days or Beelzebub will rise from the earth and eat your family.

What are the penalties of non-payment and will the e-road user be black listed?
The penalties for non-payment are:

• All offenders will be liable for all outstanding e-toll fees, additional administrative fees and associated infringements.
• The offender will go through the normal legal channels and this may result in prosecution for non-payment.

But their rules are constantly changing so who knows..

I don't know a single person who's registered for this rubbish..... And I know a lot of people who love getting stuff early and complying with stuff. But everyone seems to not have much interest in getting this lololol.

I really wont get one, if enough people don't get one and don't pay... they can't do a damn thing. We just have to stick together on this one, the more people who don't get an e-tag, the more power we hold.

Sanral argues that if any interdict stops the project it will have far-reaching long-term consequences.

The affidavit reads: “Sanral would then have to incur the expense of administering and operating the tolling network, without any income accruing. This would place Sanral in breach of its contracts with ETC JV.”

This, it argues, would cause it to default on loans which would jeopardise its international credit rating which could in turn compromise South Aafrica's credit rating.

It's simple. I am NOT registering. NOT paying - EVER. The dumba$$es that I know who have registered bla bla ("they will stop me, confiscate my car and arrest me") - LOL, they are going to have to send GOD to speak to me in person, at a "roadblock". I refuse to surrender, get out of stop driving my almost R1Million M3 for ANYONE. They will have to shoot me... In which case I will drive away VERY VERY FAST :D and for the f1rst time since I have owned it - test the claimed 250Km/h Top End. If I am going to "die" then I am am going to have fun doing it...

PHUCK THEM PPL - BOYCOTT OR WISH YOU HAD :rolleyes::wtf:

Implying that if u do NOT register, then u can take them to the cleaners if u experience any dmamges from using the toll road?

If u DO register, then u cannot claim from them if you drive into a sinkhole that develops on the freeway, or if a gentry falls on your car or whatever

that clause alone is reason enough to thell em to get ****ed

Well spotted. That is complete bull****.

pay within 7 days

This number is worth exploring more. Why 7? Normally accounts are 30 days. You can't mail an account timeously in SA within 7 days.

To me this indicates they knew right from the outset that this wouldn't work.

What they WANT you to do is pull in at an etoll outlet after your trip and pay up..

So for each day I drive 7 days later I will receive a bill? So they will send me a bill everyday of the week that I drive? 25-31 slips?
