If you want a high current capable Wifi switch, look at the CBI Astute range. When looking, compare how ruggedly the CBI is built vs the cheap wifi switches. I have many threads on here where I've opened various wifi switches, so I have a pretty good idea what can handle high current and what can't

I see, thank you. Do you know by chance where one can procure these CBI Astute range of switches? Do they make plugs as well? Or only switches? Thank you.

CBi is one of the largest producers of all sorts of electrical products, all SABS approved and SANS compliant.
There is virtually no electrical supplier in SA that does not stock their products.

Has anyone managed to flash tasmota on to these?
got one today, but wanna check if its worth opening it....

If "these" refers to the Sansui Smart Plugs that this thread is originally about then Yes, they're easy to flash - the last ones I bought were still vulnerable to Tuya Convert to no need to even open them.

If "these" refers to CBI Astutes mentioned in the last message in the thread before yours then it's a "Yes, but". The module in the CBI Astutes isn't ESP8266-based, so you can't run Tasmota on them, but @gbyleveldt has a thread describing how to replace the module with a Tasmotised ESP-12 module. I found a couple of these Sansui Smart Plugs in my garage which I never used. Getting started with Home Assistant and would like to use them if I can. Can you maybe point me in the right direction on how to get these flashed?
