Sansui windows 8" WIB802

Only upgrade. Drivers get removed when you clean install and driver pack available here doesn't work 100%.

OK cool, so if I do all the Windows 8.1 updates and then do the upgrade via ISO and then disk cleanup it should be good?

Out of interest, what version of Windows 8.1 comes installed? I take it its not Pro?

Had my tablet delivered and found scratches on I think what must be the protective cover. Is this normal or must I get a replacement?

It might be the screen cover. Depends on you but no one has stock apparently.

Is it normal to find scratches on this cover? Concerned because I'm worried this might be a used product that could end up giving me problems down the road. The nearest Hi-FI Corp told me they never had stock when I phoned them yesterday and this tablet comes from them

Also just got mine from Hifi Corp in Woodmead, they have stock. Also noticed small scratches on the protective screen cover... Took the extra extended warranty for R150 extra, so if anything happens, back to store it goes! ;-)

Tell us more about this extended warranty

Tell us more about this extended warranty

It's the extended warranty that Hifi corp offers on all their products, covers the device for an extra 2 or 3 years for any faults/issues that may arise from normal use of the device. So they obviously don't cover water damage or abuse.

I need to investigate this, I've never heard of it before.

I also took the extended warranty, paid R200 extra for 3-years total. I've claimed against a PC previously and, if they can't fix the device, refund you pro-rata according to the number of months since purchase.

Cool. I'll need to check since I bought my tablet online.

Did you get a "digital slip" emailed to you?

If yes, does yours contain the correct model number on the digital slip?

I ordered the 8" tablet and it reflects as such on the order details email but the digital slip they sent me lists the 7" version. I hope they didn't ship the 7"

Doesn't sound too good, this is what my till slip says: TAB-SANSUI WINDOWS 8" WIB802

As DearHeart says my till slip and electronic receipt states the same as his.

Best give a call

Just to be safe, back up your partitions before starting to install Windows 10.

How do I do that?

Not sure. Hopefully one of the other helpful guys will advise.

Ok here is what I did:

Got 1Gb/512mb, 4Gb & 8Gb Usb sticks.

Installed Clonezilla on the 1Gb/512mb stick using LiLi.
Use a usb hub and booted from the stick with a keyboard plugged in.
Followed this guide to backup all the partitions to an image file on the 8Gb stick. Select check if image can be restored for extra peace of mind.
Put the 8Gb stick into the box the tablet came in.

Reboot with the Clonezilla stick in the hub.
Put the 4GB stick into the hub.
Follow this Microsoft guide to create a recovery drive from within Windows 8.1.
Very Important: Make sure "Copy the recovery partition from the PC to the recovery drive" is ticked.
After it is done put the 4GB stick into the box the tablet came in.

And you are done :D
If you really want to you can also put the 1Gb/512mb stick into the box also but it is easy enough to create another one.
You can now recovery from windows or restore the whole drive to its current state if the recovery doesn't work.

Is this before or after you pulled off the screen protector's protection film. An oxymoron I know :p
If you pulled of the protection film like the tab on it says (has a # 2 on it) and there are still scratches then I'll be concerned.

Anyone got their sims working?
Telkom sim doesn't connect at all. Might be APN related though :\
