Sansui windows 8" WIB802

Was this close to buy one till I saw the HP 7" with 32 gig going for $99 http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/tablets/hp-stream-7-tablet---5701

Imported one and can not be happier. Even better I got mine to Windows 10 via the upgrade, Only problem I had was the damn recovery partition (With original Windows 8) that took up like 4 gig of the 32 leaving me with only 10 gig after office and my apps where installed.

Decided to do a fresh install of Windows 10 home thanx to http://winsupersite.com/windows-10/installing-windows-10-technical-preview-hp-stream-7 I now have a wopping 15 gig of space for apps. Moved my profile to a 64 gig sd and now I have a Mini PC that is more than capable. Hell I even have steam on it with some touch friendly games sourced from this list

Just out of curiosity how did you import the tablet?

Installing Win10 again tonight but have made a recovery drive & a Clonezilla image of the whole emmc.
So hopefully I'm covered this time around :D

Btw, has anybody tried a 64Gb SD card?
I only have 32Gbs to use/test atm but was wondering why the limitation of 32Gb?

Can you boot of a flash drive? I'm asking because I couldn't find any BIOS or anything.

Bit off topic but those Nextbook official certified Windows tablets from Makro, has anybody done a Windows 10 upgrade?

Yes you can.
You can get into the BIOS by doing this.
Strange thing I had to switch off quiet boot in the BIOS for Clonezilla.

You can. Just plug in before you turn on the tab as you get the recovery menu.

Touch doesn't work on it though so having a hub is important

Also correct.

Hi guys, just got this for my teenage daughter after following this thread. Thanx for the recommendation and tips to go with it - very impressed with it - built quality, size and weight is very similar to my LG g pad 8.3

Only negative I found is only 1.6 gig space left after all the updates - so I want to know

1 Can I install apps and other software to run off the 32 gig sd card ?
2 Is there any bloatware that I can uninstall ?

I have noticed the space increase when updating to Win 10 as mentioned here, but if I brick this thing my daughter aint'talking to me - ever ! ;-)

Thanx

You can. Just point the installation to that drive.

Space wise, set one drive files as online only.
Delete Windows.Old folder if you have a recovery USB somewhere.

Just off those, you should have 7gb available.

Rather use the Disk Cleanup utility and the select Clean up system files, otherwise you might get permission issues.

PS Support for installing on SD card coming later

Sucks that they removed the option to save store apps to another storage space in the final Windows 10 build.

OK so the 2 I ordered should be arriving shortly (got a delivery call this morning). I will definatly want to update to Windows 10 so what is the best way forward? I know this has been discussed already but its all over the place. Is it possible to update as normal with ISO and then do a clean install? I want to save as much space as possible as I hear there is only a little usable space after Windows 10 update and you can't install apps to SD card. Or what is suggested?

Do all the updates for the tablet via Windows Update.
Download the Windows 10 32bit iso.
Copy the iso to a 16gb memory card, mount the iso and start the setup, do an upgrade and select to keep all your files and programs.
After you're on Windows 10, run disk clean up and delete your windows.old folder.

You can install normal windows apps to your memory card but not store apps.

Just to be safe, back up your partitions before starting to install Windows 10.

OK great.

I have already downloaded the Windows 10 32bit ISO. Is it possible to use a flash drive as I don't have a memory card with me?

So apps from Windows store can be installed to SD card but not programmes downloaded from the web etc? How much space did you have on the deceive after the Windows 10 update and disk cleanup?

If you have an otg cable sure you can use a flash drive but best for someone else to confirm.

No store apps won't install to another storage space but your normal apps will like Office etc.

Not sure how much space I had free but it was a lot more.

Ahhh Ok Im with you.

OK will just give it a go then keeping all files and setting etc. Ive updated 3 of my PC's at home this week and all have gone smoothly.

Only upgrade. Drivers get removed when you clean install and driver pack available here doesn't work 100%.
