SAOL fallout - where to now ?

In an attempt to pool information for all us lucky uncapped SAOL users who no longer have a ISP..
we obviously need decent uncapped / unshaped in order to maximize the line usage.
Yes , I am a "heavy" user , i get uncapped as i want to USE it , if i wanted a 3 gig line id buy one.

Are there any affordable uncapped unshaped accounts out there ?
After hours uncapped included.
The only 2 options I see right now for us .. Unshaped for torrents and gaming ..
These do not have any limits imposed , no acceptable usage policy , no rolling usage period and no throttling,
if you know of any other cheap (truly) uncapped unshaped package that does not limit the line in any way what so ever regardless of usage , please post it here.
I beg users to please not use this thread to discuss acceptable usage policies , this is not why im starting this thread.
This is to help ourselves out of the situation that SAOL.COM got us into.
Ive searched far and wide , reading every fine print and only found 2 possible solutions so far.
Someone help us out here ?

1)MWEB Business Uncapped 384k - R629 (There is a R1000 setup fee and this is NOT MONTH TO MONTH , You also MUST use mweb's router)

2)Openweb 2meg after hours uncapped / unshaped (R999) No contract or setup fees.

Um, perhaps I've missed your point... but surely Axxess Express accounts would suit your needs? If not, then the standard MWEB service is a-for-away. I've none over 200GB this month, and no warning yet. MWEB rep has stated, categorically, that excessive usage does not exist. It is shaped, but afterhours on more evenings than not is unshaped. Possibility?

Like I said , accounts with no Acceptable usage policies should be listed here please.
I dont want to get a mweb account now and get a phone call from mweb next month like the one I got from SAOL yesterday , complaining about my data usage.

Also , I clearly stated unshaped accounts need to be listed here please ,
If i want to download from international torrent sites I want to be able to do so.

Also , Axxess impose 10 day rolling window periods
"A 10 day rolling threshold applies to this account - This means when you use more than the threshold amount during a 10 day period, your line speed will be lowered but not disconnected. "

Any other suggestions ?
 
Do not forget about Axxess 384 Express + account. Been on this package from day one and can truelly say that i have never got any complaints from Axxess about my usage - and yes I am a heavy user. I still say it is the best package out there for the "Heavies" ;)

totally sucks hey

the mweb business uncapped comes with 5 static ips not really that useful for me

axxess express+ isnt worth it if you got a 384 line if you got a 4meg than it's a different story

Just remember you don't have to stick to the 10 day rolling threshold. It depends on how and when you want to download. I only use my uncapped account in the evenings and over weekends and still manage to do 500G's a month. Do the math....
 
all of them ?
rapidshare , torrents , i play WoW , Battlefield Bad Company 2 , Modern Warefare 2 , I for sure want to play Starcraft2 when it comes out.

You might have a point. I am on a 4MB line. Maybe its time for a line upgrade guys?? Although I don't know what your budgets are like....
 
An account without an AUP, you are looking for something that doesn't exist. Truly heavy downloaders should get that express uncapped... I got 600GB on it the one month, and no warning letters.

Still though, MWEB has been more than sufficient for me. Their rep here said categorically that they would not cancel anyone's account if usage was high. So, its your decision. Spend a *** load more on Express, or ride the MWEB boat and run the well researched risk on MWEB connect.

point taken, at R999 + R413 = R1412 , quite the leap from the R500 (including line rental).
I do agree that its a decent deal taking into account the amount of data that can be downloaded , but are there any other cheaper suggestions ?
 
the 2 accounts above are exactly what im talking about, it does exist ,
what frustrates me is all the false advertising , even telkom sell "uncapped" accounts with caps imposed.

This is the only way forward that I can see for the heavy users. Maybe a little expensive for some - but still the only way forward.

Lol - That's sad... I feel for you, really. But as I said somewhere else on this forum - if after reading all the info about all the so called new uncapped packages on the market I would most probably put all my eggs in the Mweb basket!!! They seem to be the most "stable" ISP on the market at this point wrt these new uncapped offerings. That said - my money is still very much going to Axxess!! :)
