I will give you 1 month FREE! yip FREE! ADSL internet access.
Sorry for the problems, you account just slipped by my admin staff, As it goes because of your account I implemented a new step in our procedures to avoid this problem again.

Nice save there. Just one request, please get Marko to let me know when he thinks my account (which I applied for mid October already) and e-mailed about at 9:00 this morning will eventually be activated so I can stop raiding one of my friend's 2GB Telkom accounts ?

Yes Diago, I will tell you when your account has been activated, once you have paid us.:(

As I have said before I have had only a good expereince with these guys from my comunications with them.

I however was also not informed of my new user details, I was just told my account was active.

That said I knew the user etc that I had asked for and all I needed to change on my router this morning was @axxess.co.za to @soal.com in my user name and all worked perfect (as i had used same user details for new acc).

Ok O-Fritt, seing as I have just signed up with SAOL's 10Gb service, your sig begs the question - why?

I appreciate part of this initial message. Sure, an influx of customers is expected and would slow things down, but...

How can you serve the people, that left it late and want an immediate activation, before your customers that joined up weeks ago?!?! Sign them up by all means, but activate your present clients first. I eventually went to bed, waiting for ages after my 00:01 activation (as stated when I signed up). If only I had known you were using a "last come, first served" principle, I would have waited, rather than given advanced knowledge of my signup (implying a quick and easy activation for me on Nov 1st). Better yet, I would have taken my 30GB of business elsewhere.

This is an extremely unfair and unprofessional style of business and had better not be indicative of future service!

On a postive note (nice to end that way), the initial signup was very quick and painless.

Applied yesterday, activated by the time I woke up this morning. No complaints, and two thumbs up for employing tele ladies with really hawt voices.

:D

I'm impressed. Got a call from a lady from SAOL today who gave me some details and asked me to make the first payment via EFT. Did the payment tonight, emailed the confirmation to SAOL and 5 mins later received a SMS to say my account is activated.

Erm.. Yeah, Great answer there.... Except you only told me here, no one bothered to inform me that my debit order won't be running and that I need to make the EFT. Strange, everyone in your offices seems to share the same we don't care attitude.

Well I am informing you online to please cancel that account I applied for as I would rather use a lesser cap at the same price then deal with individuals that doesn't understand the meaning of customer service and information sharing.

A mate of mine was connected within 5 minutes of putting his phone down.

Jeez.. people will never be happy.. give them a deal at half of the cost of almost ANYONE else and they still arent happy. Go sign up with telkom, see how long it takes.

Comparing poor service is no argument; both examples are still below standard in the end. Price should be a poor service metric. Low price as an excuse for bad service? Get higher expectations.

Willingness to settle for less is a negative consumer quality and perpetuates the poor service cycle. Small businesses, in South Africa, seem to hate criticism and get highly defensive. Overseas markets crave comment. I have heard it said that South Africans show their dislike for a service/product with their feet, instead of their mouth. If we changed this, businesses would last longer.

I only see a few pains posting here that is unhappy. I got connected at 2AM this morning 1 November by pedantic, out of good will. So what is the issue, You cannot manage yourselves and expect an ISP to carry your cr@p. Gawd if I was Tarquin I will not even answer your complaints, even after he offered a free account for, "their" slip up, to one person that sat on his arse expecting a miracle, why not just PM pendantic like I did, and another that applied eons ago and did not even pay yet ??. Very few company's will even connect You unless transfer is confirmed in their own bank let alone like SAOL did for me at the late (or rather early) hours they did . C'mon MORONS wake up and just carry on with your bussiness somewhere else, and be happy, we all can see where the real problem lies, It does not seem to be with SAOL.
