SAPO backtracks on its parcel delivery claim

The South African Post Office (SAPO) has backtracked on its claim that it delivers parcels without delays or problems.

The organisation said in a social media marketing campaign in October that it “delivers parcels efficiently and without delays with the margins of error reduced to zero percent”.
Yup my mother sent something from the UK, it was probably delivered efficiently and without delay into the workers pocket.

Royal mail tracked delivery of a letter to SA.

Mentioned before, we sent post cards from Paris last year in May, they arrived January this year. (some didn't arrive)

I only received one slip from Post Office, not a single sms, and I expected 3 packages. So for the last 2 items, I had to page through 2 of their books to find my name so that they can give me my stuff. On the plus side, when I did this, I saw my colleague's name, so I picked up her package as well. (The items were there for 2 weeks already by that time, no notification sent to me)

Yup my mom sent my son a birthday card, last year she sent it in October it arrived all bashed and ripped in January, this year she sent it end of August. Still waiting.

Just received a small parcel that was sent to a Post Office 15km away, instead of the one two blocks away.

They seem to ignore postal codes, they just send it to where they feel like sending it to.

Ordered something last week. 4 days from the US to SA.

Probably going to take > 7 days to clear customs and reach my local post office.

The Post Office responded, saying a communication error occurred in the preparation of this social media post, resulting in the disputed claim.

What utter BS.

and water is wet and the sky is actually blue.

EVERYBODY knows SAPO is useless for ANYTHING.

one of the reasons we have so many courier companies,
as its a good business to be in,
like there are so many security companies, as SAPS is useless.
and so on,

where the Goverment fails, Private industry will find a way.

They do ignore them. Last time a parcel of mine was delivered to the wrong office I asked them about the post code. Oh no, we don't use that.

What nonsense is that ? I have been waiting since July for my package only to find out that it has been sent back to the sender due to unclaimed parcel... BUT, I did NOT get a notification like they claim to send SMS to everyone. I also have 3 other parcels still at the sorting station in Jhb (according to the tracking info) since end September... and I have emails to prove how many times Ive been asking for feedback.

Same problem here. I got lucky though. Waited 3 months and all of a sudden got a "Final Notice" by SMS.

I cant believe they claim to be this wonderful post office... I just hope I will get a SMS or ticket like I have with my other parcels... and how can you get a final notice if you havent been notified once ? Hahahahaha ... I wish I got a "final notice" even if I havent received ANY. No seriously, dont know why our parcels must work through them, we can pay the courier guy the Tax fee and they can just submit this. The last 3 parcels I'm waiting for I couldve replaced already by buying that in the shops, that is probably what they want to force us to do

I ordered two items a while back, one from Spain, one from Czech. Both arrived within 4 weeks.
