Don't make me laugh after I spent an hour at the counter (the only one in the row) trying to collect a credit card via secure mail. The person had to wait for the supervisor to open the safe as she is not allowed to open it. The supervisor had to ask her for the combination. I think these internet terminals will set new speed records (maybe 0.0000000001 bit per decade).

The post office should concentrate on improving its core business and not try any new businesses until competencies and systems are developed.
 
Fair enough, things aren't working as smoothly as we would like them to. In may cases it's an absolute disgrace how bad things have become.

This is exactly why I find any initiative to improve the service delivered by the Post Office to be laudable. Instead of the ubiquitous apathy generally encountered we have an individual or group trying to improve things.

This is a good thing.
 
I applaud their branching out into other areas - standing on line for a car license renewal at my local post office is a thousand times better than queueing at the traffic department.

I could not agree more. Who knows, maybe we'll be able to register for automatic email notifications reminding us that it's time to renew said license. I forget every year ever since they stopped mailing out those handy reminders. When was that anyway? Mid 90's?

Youre so right. I walked into the local post office straight up to the renewals counter and was done in 5 minutes. After years of spending at least an hour in a line at the traffic department and then having to deal with a sullen employee it was great.

Having a bureaucratic service actually improve in South Africa had me all giddy and positive about the future.
