SAPO punts big ecommerce plans

The South African Post Office (SAPO) is currently repositioning its e-commerce strategy to be a driver of global exports and to enhance intra-African trade under the new African Continental Free Trade Agreement, while engineering local trade.

I won't mind using them if they actually start doing what they are supposed too. They have an office in every single place you can imagine so they are in an ideal position to basically control the ecommerce space but incompetence, maladministration and corruption is basically killing it slowly so this will never happen unfortunately.

Once the trust is broken, it's very hard to ever win it back.
And it's not like they have done anything to show that they have changed their ways.

“To that end, and as part of its role in growing the economy and create the much-needed jobs, the Post Office has reduced the backlog of international items ordered online to around three weeks and hopes to have the backlog eradicated within the next month,” the Ministry said on Friday.
So essentially a substantial increase in the number of parcels being stolen by SAPO employees (Xmas Boxes) results in the backlog being cleared.

“Given its massive and extensive infrastructure and presence in almost corners of the country, including the rural areas, there is growing need for government to make use of the SAPO to enhance the delivery of people-centred services.

That isn't even true anymore.

I would wager pep has a greater coverage than the Post Office

Ditto with Pargo.

Post office is a relic alongside with just about every SOE that should be euthanised.

Mark Barnes ideas V2.0. Cannot even do the core basics but want to diversify

Lost 9 Aliexpress packages before lockdown. Aliexpress no longer ship using these incompetent buffoons.

Dear post office, get fcked. Thanks.
Oh dear. I dont think Aliexpress have stopped using these clowns. 2 parcels ordered in last month, been in SA for 3 weeks now... No news, no tracking... No idea.

Was hoping for buffalo, but no luck :(

When did you order from them? Was it an item with "free"/post office shipping?
