SAPO punts big ecommerce plans

SAPO dont have the staff to handle what they are doing at the moment, adding more to that is just going to make it worse.

The post office are basically useless like all SOEs .
They still have that rubber stamp mentality .
They can not do what they are there for , they should close down and start again they are broken .

Interesting that the backlog is down to 3 weeks, yet my parcels from February haven't been delivered.
And nobody at SAPO customer service ever responds to an email or answers a phone

and my best - their "track my international parcel" has been showing this for years:

They do answer but they always take forever - its like dial & put it on speak & expect to not get contact till after 30 mins is up. 0860 111 502
I have the joy of dialling that to get a local tracking number sometimes & its always a loooonnnngggg wait.

I just got told that now international shipments no longer get switched to a local tracking number anymore.

I'm finding that the SAPO tracking sites no longer give any info once the item hits SA.

However, 17track does work; Also the origin mailer tracker too; i.e., something sent with Royal Mail will show tracking data on the Royal Mail system once the item is scanned in in SA, but the SAPO systems give nothing!

What did you expect? That anything state-owned works?

Yeah, yeah :)

It’s bizarre though that external systems are able to access SAPO tracking data, but the SAPO systems cant!

Also, the very useful SAPO iOS tracking app no longer works at all.
