SARS 2009 Assessment

You can claim the interest and insurance, but only the percentage used for work travel.

Believe it or not, I only claimed R7,300 (10%) for traveling expenses, this includes petrol, repairs/maintenance, insurance, interest...

My biggest area of claiming was home office, and depreciation (on S2000 and toyota hilux). Only issue with depreciation is I have to pay back to SARS when I sell the vehicles.

How would they know you sold the vehicles ?

How would they know you sold the vehicles ?

Not sure - but I don't want to take the chance :p with eNatis they can probably check on my ID number, if the system is working.

Not sure how legal it is, but I might just get a dealer to decrease the price he offers me for my car, and then pay more for the car I'm buying.

Not 100% on how depreciation works, but will tackle it when I get there.

I'm still waiting... already complied a list of what I'm going to do if i get anything:D

I just checked online while doing my IRP6 - mine still says "In progress"
