SARS E-Filing 2015

I see they sent a email saying if you earn under 350k you don't need to file.. (and in fine print u don't get tax rebates).. seems like gov doesnt want to pay out.. ;)

Just a question, started receiving a travel allowance this year along with company medical aid, etc.

Will I receive rebates on these?

I usually do mine on the 1st :D Last year I had issues with that took 2 months to sort out so I hope this year will go smoothly.

I've done it on the last day for years, without any problems :D

You guys should wait till august to file, there is always a few bugs on the opening of filing season :P

Yes, but don't file if you have a tax number and you get nailed for not submitting and then penalized. My wife has been through this year after year... I just submit it now to avoid any painful dealings with them...

Well if you don't file then you won't get any rebates, stands to reason.

You can always run the calculator before submitting, and if you owe them money then just don't submit it. .

If you have kept a detailed logbook reflecting business mileage and the travelling claim exceeds the untaxed portion of the travelling allowance(usually 80% of the allowance is subjected to tax on a monthly basis) then possibly.

Medical will depend on whether your employer has taken the medical tax credits into account on a monthly basis and whether you have excess qualifying amounts that exceed the formula applied to determine the final medical tax credits.

Exactly what I plan to do!!

I also predict that I will be audited this time round...
