- He paid out of pocket for some medical expenses.
- His RA contributions are much higher than yours.
The medical aid thing doesn't seem to be as straightforward as getting back (R257 * 12 = R3084). They seem to apply some calculation to it.
So you're probably going to get far less than R3084. You'll only score for medical aid if you've paid out of pocket or have a few dependents...

I paid about 5k for medical expenses out of pocket and got back nothing![]()
I dunno how that works. Last year my wife had about R6500 worth of medical expenses that we had to pay out of pocket, it gave me X amount to get back. Then I added R10 000 to see what it does - the amount remained exactly the same. No idea what the calculation entails.
ja ja ja....at least I still have my youth. No tax return amount can buy![]()
Tried filling it out. However its asking about my contributions to pension. Which I am not sure if it means annual total or monthly total? if annual - do i calculate it back to July 2014?

Not sure about pension, I just pay retirement anuity. I get a certificate from Liberty with my total amount paid and then that amount gets filled in after the medical aid contribution.
I'm with Momentum. Will login to the portal and see what I can get out of that.
