SARS E-Filing 2015

Where do you see this verification info? I had to submit supporting documents but not sure if its the correct documents.

I was emailed a notification to read a letter when the verification was complete. Letter said no change was made to my return, aka, SARS happy with my return numbers

Getting R22k back - dropping it straight into my Equity Funds.

That's what my first assessment said too. Then needed to send documentation twice (Med Aid, bank statements, retirement fund) and now I owe them my first born. So I guess I'm appealing.

EDIT: Saw now what they did. When I resigned they saw my retirement lumpsum payout as an income and nailed me on that. Sent in proof that it was transferred to a pension preservation fund. These cnuts are nailing you on everything, including saving your money to look after yourself instead of spending it.

Filed dispute and supporting docs so will see what happens. Im not entirely in the mood to pay R23k willy nilly.

I have now received my refund. Timeline:
*Filed at 8:30pm on 30/06
*Selected for verification so submitted all documents at 9PM on 30/06
*Received letter saying verification complete with no required changes at 3PM on 1/07
*Money in at 1AM on 4/07

Enjoy your refunds chaps. Putting 90% of mine into the access bond with the remaining 10% towards nappies etc for the next child due at month end. Being a financially responsible adult is :-/

Under my Retirement Contribution from the Notice of Assessment:

Amount c/f to next year R-6459.00

*Sigh*

That means I didn't get a tax deductible on 6459.00 of my RA contributions. Cant wait for that 27.5% contributions tax benefits to kick in (in 2017 only I think, stupid ****ing unions!), I'll get a lovely payout then.

Better than my R794.53 :p.

Much! :p

If I didn't earn a small profit* from my rental income, I would have gotten more due to the RA contributions I make. And at least the excessive RA contributions carry over, one day to be claimed back when I contribute less...

*not a profit in my pocket, still a loss in my pocket because its less than what I paid towards the capital of the loan repayment, but I get that overall I score in the end.

Well this is lovely.

1st assessment they owed me R23k.

2nd assessment I owe THEM R23k. All they did was change the - to a +.

You can submit a notice of objection. They did the same to me last year and I filled the NOO explaining why they are wrong and submitted it with the same supported documents. After 2 months, they did the third assessment identically to the first one.

I am about to submit mine but I noticed that source code 4003 (Provident Fund Contributions) isn't showing up on my calculated return, even though it is on my IRP5...

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Mine also not showing. If you employer is the one that is contributing to the provident fund (like in my case) you get no benefit to claim against. That changes with the proposed changes that were postponed until 2017.

Filed at 21:00 on 1 July and still waiting for my money...grr.

30 June at about 23:00. But I had to make changes once I'd submitted (forgot something on my medical aid) - so had to send through documentation for auditing. Will probably be another 6mths until I see any type of refund...
