SARS E-Filing 2015

no its 2013,2014 and 2015...is there no way to get a hold of the auditors?

if the auditor has asked you for specific documents then you need to give them proving that you did pay the contributions. any other document will be ignored and your assessments will be revised.

check that the administrator of the pension fund applied correctly for the tax directive. on the tax directive application it should indicate that you are transferring the money. phone the administrators and ask them for a copy of it.

Thanks Celine,

I'll need to look at it. If I can't get it sorted now, would it be possible to rectify with next year's filing?

Nearly 2 months and still waiting...

Apparently the accountant from my previous job is trying to sort it out - or so he says.

So I get a call last week from SARS requesting further supporting docs after I submitted the original batch on 3 August. Does that mean another 30 working days turnaround time for the second request? Anyone had experience with this? it was only a 2 page explanatory letter I submitted second time...

Yup that's what they told me but it only took a week....for those that have helped me with my sars assessment this year I truly appreciate it...I ended up handing in an affidavit and a letter from the medical aid stating I make payment for my parents(that saved me a cool R1800 that i would have had to pay for a 3 year bank statement) and i phoned in today the consultant said the eft is set for 2m morning....its been a long 2 months lol but the wait has finally paid off..hope the rest of you get your refunds soon...till next year peeps

I've been waiting since the 27th Aug still.
SARS are desperate for money bcos they are running low due to the E Tolling system!

So I paid the damn >R25k amount that SARS insisted I owe them, at the beginning of this month. Got an SMS today from my bank showing that SARS paid the same amount back into my account. Apparently we're square now. Which is suspicious...First assessement showed them owing ME R25k, then suddenly after filing, I was picked for an audit where they simply swapped the - to a + and suddenly I owed THEM R25k.

After 2 or 3 objections they kept saying I OWE THEM and I decided fuggit™ and just paid the R25k but stated in my return that i do so under duress (lame I know). So now they paid the same amount back to me that I paid them so I guess that means my original assessment results in nobody owing anyone. I'm ok with that.

If anyone is still waiting give them a call. I did my efiling just after this season opened and they owed me money. Waited till end of August and gave them a call. Apparently there was a tax return outstanding from 2012 that they only picked up now. I was still a student then and did some holiday work. Filed that and was paid after 2 days.

^ This has become an issue for me lately. It's not a good sign. I submitted a return for a client and she was owed just over R1k and she was not selected for an audit. I expected her refund to be paid out fairly quickly. Two months later and no refund. I gave SARS a call and apparently there is an outstanding return from 2009. She was refunded last year without this being an issue. I submitted a nil return as she was not employed at that time. Now they are auditing a nil return for 2009. WTF.

Exacty same issue for me.

SARS owed me about 17k after I submitted my return. I was waiting patiently and nothing happened. I phoned in and was told there was an outstanding return for 2010, logged on completed it and it got sent for audit, took them 23 days to complete that audit.

Took a further 5 days to pay out from there, and when I queried the payment I was told the payment can also take 20 working days to process.

you will see on your IT 34 assessment if there are any outstanding returns. SARS will notify you of the outstanding returns on the IT34.

That's another issue. There were no outstanding returns listed on either the IT34 or ITSA.

Finally SARS paid me on the wend. Just another a month after my Accountant submitted my Tax Returns for me :-)

SARS paid me over the weekend finally too. I was audited and it took months but they found nothing wrong and I got me moneys.

@ Solitude - How many months did your audit take? Did it go to a stage 2 or 3 audit?

I did my return in July and got paid this weekend. In truth I'm not sure if I was audited or not. When I finally heard back from them they said their investigation has completed and that everything was fine. So I'm not entirely sure what they mean by that. I did have to upload documents for them though which I did, also in July.

I see. Sounds like you were audited.

I must say as long as this all took, every time I called to query anything the people at SARS were amazing, from the time it took to answer the call to being able to answer me and give me anything I needed. Wish more call centres could be like that.

Submitted but got some silly message:
Please note that your return cannot be processed immediately due to an outstanding Tax Directive. Therefore, manual intervention is required. SARS will advise you as soon as your return has been assessed. LUMP SUM DECLARED BUT DIRECTIVE OUTSTANDING

Two silly amounts received from an employer from 2005, dam I'll need to wait for them to come back to me.

Got the same message. Are you still waiting, or did you received your refund? If so, how long did it take?
