No, you pay before end of November 2016. Even if they owe you a million, you will first pay them that R400, with interest if you pay after end of November.I e-filed yesterday and owe SARS R400. Do I pay before 31 Jan 2017? Or leave it and let my return next year cover it?

I received an email stating that I have a "Administrative Penalty Statement of Account". But when I search for it on eFiling, there's nothing. SARS also owes me money - yet to receive
Admin penalties are applied for late or non-submission of income tax returns or provisional tax returns and start at R250.00 per month for every month that the return is outstanding.
Click on "SARS Correspondence" then "Request Admin Penalty SOA" SOA = Statement of Account.
They will not pay out any refund unless the all outstanding returns are submitted and any penalties paid. It is possible to get the Admin Penalties waived.
When I do that, the statement that's generated says R0.00![]()
Request one for each year. The drop down will default to 2017.
Oh. I think I submitted one, not really knowing what I was doing. Then got an email with regards to creating it. I actually have no penalties. How long does it take to assess the supporting documents I uploaded? Patiently waiting for my payout here.
Also, I mistakenly started to file a submission for a year I wasn't working - i.e. no irp5 submitted for that year. Is that a problem?
Normal turn around time after submission documents is about two weeks but can take longer.
I would complete the submission that you created and leave everything zero. SARS will not pay out if you have an open and over due tax return.
Dont known the answer to the first question, you should be able to get it from the sars site but on the second question I would suggest you always file your tax return, it could be that they owe you some moneySo what is the minimum annual salary before need do efiling / tax return?
If you are under that, do you recommend doing it either way or not?
