I haven't received Notification that they've received my supporting documents. Any reason to get worried.

Has anyone been selected for verification and received a completion letter yet? I'm trying to assess the average handling/processing time for those of us selected for verification. Because most of us on here have submitted so early, it should really be concluded within a working week but I get the sense that they might drag their feet like last year.

Selected, no feedback what so ever

Yep, starting to feel like we might be in for a long wait. I just cant understand why they would intentionally drag out the 30 working day TAT if all the supporting docs etc. have been given to them from day 1. Good business sense would be to get these early submissions out of the way so that they prevent backlogs as the filing season progresses.

No need to worry about that, I filed on Sunday and only received my SMS on Monday morning. If you're selected for verification you might be in for a wait though. Also make sure you have submitted absolutely everything you can think off so that they don't surprise you with further requests for docs to
delay to process.

Real world feedback along these lines would be very useful

Why is the SARS website so vague?

You are not claiming tax related deductions/rebates (e.g. medical expenses, retirement annuity contributions other than pension contributions made by your employer, travel).
Does this mean if I don't want to claim rebates on my RA (not going to stand in the SARS queue for even free money) I don't have to?

Was selected. Submitted docs. Requested correction and seems I'll be paid tomorrow. Holding thumbs.
Ok, this is encouraging. Not sure if requesting correction is what I want to do now as it might kick off another process. Why did you click on it after uploading docs?

When I register it wants me to go into a SARS branch to verify things before 21 days or my profile gets deleted. Not going to queue from 6 in the morning there. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Well, you have to file your returns. You might be penalized eventually if you don't.

I submitted on 01/07/2017 and was selected for audit.

I have submitted the documents requested.

Received an email on acknowledgement of documents.

Now for the wait

For those who may stumble across a similar situation as mine where I didn't have medical aid for two months due to circumstances which I really had no control over, here's the verdict.

SARS ignores any medical incidents which you had to pay for out of pocket of course during that period.

Thank you for the heads up
