SARS E-Filing 2019 OPEN!

If your docs are good and you've given them everything you should be good to go by next Wed the very latest

yeah, I am hoping so, funny enough my refund is less by 19K this year, and last year I was not selected for audit....the only difference is that I travelled less...I just hope they do not ask for more documents on the last day!

just as I finished typing the above, I took a chance and pulled a fresh SOA, guess what...it no longer has audit status, no refund date...though, but I am happy...something finally happened!!!

Yep, I was in same boat on Friday evening my audit status changed and I got my refund date appearing on my SoA this morning. Give it about two business days

yeah...I give it to SARS though...they know how to humble a person...period...you will go through all emotions and you will settle down for calm.

LOL, yep our tune changes very quickly once the refund date appears on the SoA.... One day we will get to a 3 day SLA from SARS but until then we will continue on the emotional rollocoaster when July comes around.

Morning all. Refund date finally shows on SoA. Looks like I'm being paid tomorrow.
For the new guys on here:
Filled 2 July
Selected for Verification
Submitted docs on 2 July
Verification completed 19 July (no changes)
Refund to be paid 24 July
No completion leter generated (same as last year)
Refund in excess of R65k (so the ammount due doesn't matter to SARS)

Good luck to the rest of you, I was the most anxious on here and that proved to be unnecessary. Trust the process, they stick to their timelines

So counting hours, I hope i will have my date tomorrow as well.

Just received a call to add a "from" column in my logbook and all other docs are fine.
Upload and submission on eFiling was straight forward..hopefully won't take too long from here..

YES - about time, just got a complete letter!

Atleast, that's great, Most of us the frustrated ones are getting their verification's completed.

Waiting is over. Refund date tomorrow
SOA says refund tomorrow....now I can go and increase my stamp collection, the 1903 winter edition stamp with Queen Victoria...that baby is mine...I just need to hustle 12K more...than I will have all the stamps.

Good life I tell you.

Completed my return this morning.
I actually struggled to find the 2019 one,so i connected to the helpyouefile service.

It was quite a pleasant experience. I went from number 176 to 56 in about 5min. Entire call was 10min and I was able to find what i couldn't seem to after chatting with the agent. I see SARS uses NPS as well. Its quite different from my last experience with them.

Once calculated and submitted I got a notice to indicate I need to upload supporting docs and I'm under review - I expected it because of all the medical expenses from my hospital stay last year that Discovery didnt cover.

Quite a nice sum if the calculation was correct, which will further help me pay off outstanding medical bills

Received an additional ITA34 where they have chopped 5 grand off my refund. What is the process from here? Just wait?

If you agree with their assessment, you don't need to do anything. If you don't agree with it, you need to dispute it. How you dispute, I do not know.

Call your SOA and see what you actual refund is, also check your IT34 to see what they have disallowed in terms of deductions, under notice of assessment you can dispute or request for reason hope that helps

Well I got the SMS saying my supporting docs have been received by SARS

I just thought of something now though, maybe someone can clarify?
Medical Aid Cert says "Claims not recovered from the Scheme: R84,573.46"
However I only claimed on what I actually paid and submitted the relevant docs. Half of the above amount was written off by doctors after my operations. Was I meant to submit the statement showing a 0.00 bal that the doctors wrote off as well ?
